1) Realistically, where do you think you'll be five years from now? What job will you be working, will you have family/friends/pets, where will you be living and how?

I think I will be living in a duplex with someotherguy and sogwife, writing for a living, and having lots of time for hospitality and downtime and friends and walks. I don't expect to have pets, but Munchkins may enter the picture when they're old enough to move away from home.

2) Unrealistically, given a perfect life, where do you want to be five years from now?

I would have enough money to buy The Compound: A large parcel of land with several houses on it (or just several houses on the same block, f'rinstance), where all my chosen family could, if they wanted, live for free within a block of where I lived.

3) What's the big barrier keeping number one and two separate and distinct, or is there one?

It's the same life, just a difference in how much cash there is to make it happen.

4) Utterly and completely abandoning realism, make up where you'll be in five years. Alien abductions and portals to alternate universes are encouraged.

I will be the next misia or nadinelet or someone, writing intelligent smut and blogging about it.

5) Where did you believe you'd be now, five years ago? Pick a crucial event of the past five years and tell us where you’d be now if it had been different.

Had a lovely night of Apples to Apples with wild_irises, sogwife, and someotherguy. As predicted, I cannot remember who won or lost -- I just remember the hysterical laughter. I feel incredibly lucky to have the family I chose, as paradoxical as that may be.
