1. I couldn't get through five minutes of "Kill Bill". I think that sometimes I'm more sensitive to violence than other times.

2. I'm tired beyond what I should be considering this week. I hope I'm not getting sick. No, I feel like I'm not getting sick. I'm just burned out, maybe. I shall go get some rest, as soon as I clear some of the clean clothes off the bed.

3. [livejournal.com profile] rsc and [livejournal.com profile] annaoj are the bestest. They sent me "Lost" and "West Wing" last week, and saved [livejournal.com profile] stonebender from having to synopsize. This week, however, I will have him synopsize. Apparently, my VCR doesn't automatically turn back the clock. *sigh*

4. Thanks to those who responded on the Netflix thing. I got one of those letters, and now I know I'm not going nuts. Or something.

5. There is no 5.

6. Got a pot of mom's spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove. Sometimes comfort food, even comfort food that won't be ready until tomorrow night, is just the ticket.

7. Love love love that I'm able to just swing by [livejournal.com profile] stonebender's place. LDRs are fine with me, but I like being close.

8. Ordered the Writer's Market and the Poet's Market today. Gonna take some time tomorrow and set up a writing area, with my files and reference books and stuff. Next, I'll buy a decent printer (there are some cheap ones out there that will do the trick) and start submitting my work again. Often, submitting stuff is just the grease I need to get my new stuff flowing out.

9. Bought tickets to go to San Diego next week with [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy to visit my mom and the Munchkins. God, I miss them.

10. If it seems like there's suddenly a little money around here, that's because there is. I got a settlement for my car crash, and I've decided not to buy another car. [livejournal.com profile] stonebender is letting me borrow his to get to work, and when he sells that, I'll take the BART or a cab. It's only a few miles away. It will save me hundreds of dollars a month not to deal with car expenses, and that means that doing this crap job for crap pay will pay my bills, especially after my COBRA payments go away. I'm gonna put a bit away to live on so that my weekend job is sufficient, put some more away to help with [livejournal.com profile] sogwife's move when she's ready to move closer, and spend some on flying the Munchkins up for xmas. What's left will buy a few necessities and a few gifts. We're not rolling in it, but some good came out of the demolishment of my dearly beloved Corolla.

I forget which number comes next, and am too lazy to scroll up, so:

A.

My journal is called "Serene's journal" because, um, I'm uncreative?
My subtitle is "Days in the life" because I got tired of "Oakland's Finest".
My friends page is called "These are the journals serene reads" because I hate the whole "friends" conceit.
My username is serenejournal because my name is serene and that name was taken.
My default userpic is a photo taken during the Womboink a couple of years ago in San Diego, one of the best weekends of my life. [livejournal.com profile] mactavish, did we decide you'd taken this?

B. I think I should try to get some sleep now. OH, how could I have forgotten? I'm hoping some of the new cash (when the dust settles) is going to help me visit [livejournal.com profile] intenselaura in the Spring, and perhaps [livejournal.com profile] kightp, too. Tickets to see [livejournal.com profile] kightp are way cheap right now, and I'm on the lookout for affordable tix to Canada. *bounce*

And if you come see her, you get to see me and Himself too at no extra charge! Because we live a whole, ummm, five blocks away. (here's hoping that qualifies as an inducement and not a deterrent.)

I couldn't even get through the script to kill bill much less actually see the movie(s).

I couldn't watch Kill Bill 1 either, but Kill Bill 2 is a pretty good movie, though quite violent. David Carradine is very good in it.

I stopped watching Kill Bill after about 5 minutes, too.

Which I bet you could find easily enough, but not necessarily for the right part of Canada. It's a big country, darlin'. :)

Yes, silly girl, I'll make sure I don't book myself to Vancouver or something. ;-)

Hey, I once had to point out to someone that they were looking at a flight to Ontario, California, as opposed to a city in Ontario, Canada.

British Columbia would be nice to visit, though, and maybe you'd get to see [livejournal.com profile] pleonastic.

I made it through maybe 10 min of Kill Bill II and turned it off it was just too much! For me at least.
