Mostly good day

stonebender's illness and some passive-aggressive-teenager issues, it's been a wonderful day or so. Last night, we went out for my birthday sushi (I've been looking forward to it for a long time, and had budgeted a nice splurge into the big contract check I got this week). It was wonderful. I can recommend Sushi Ko in Berkeley.
Today was good, too, but mostly for its lack of stress and the knowledge that the magazine will be home soon and I can ship it. Plus I got the *other* check I've been waiting for. Money doesn't buy happiness, but it buys a certain freedom from worry.
So now here I sit, listening to BNL, lounging in my big fluffy robe, and contemplating a post about the silly hobby that's been conspiring with the magazine to use up all the time I would normally spend blogging.
