Volt in Berkeley rocks. I called them Tuesday to let them know I'm ready to go back to work. (I'm not REALLY ready, but I'm ready to get a paycheck again). They called me yesterday and gave me my choice of two temp assignments and one temp-to-perm. Now I'm sitting here waiting for the phone interview on the job that starts tomorrow unless they hate me on the phone. If they do hate me on the phone, I start at the other place ASAP. Life is good.

Having to make money sucks but there's something to be said about the process's being easy when it is necessary.

So the last time they were trying to sell me a body the conversation went like this:

Me: Volt specializes in placing technical positions. Right?
Volt: Yes.
Me: And you're slogan is, "Volt: The high energy people"
Volt: Yup
Me: But shouldn't technical people know that volts doesn't measure energy? Shouldn't you be "the high potential people"?
Volt: Uh, I thought this was a software position. Did you want someone with a hardware background?
Me: No, I want a sysadmin. I just want to make sure that if I do ever hire a hardware designer I don't get them through you. No offense.
