To where I lived for the longest as a small child (3.5 years): Heh. It's in Spain. Call it 6000 miles, just to be round and stuff.

It appears not to recognise UK postal codes (as we left my first home when I was 8, I'm mildly chuffed that I remember the postal code for it :-). Anyhow, from http://www.multimap.com we have:

Estimated duration: 1 hours, 50 minutes
Total distance: 91.3 miles (146.9 km)

Obviously, the duration is all wrong because it assumes I'm not car-free. However, from http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/planmyjourney/ I give you:

Duration: 3 hrs 45 mins with two changes

and there would be another 30 mins by bus. I don't have any family there to go back to any more...

Total time, 25 minutes, 9.68 miles, but that's because they use a kind of a weird route. I think that if you used the route I'd actually use, it'd be closer to 20 minutes
