Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] kightp, who stole it from someone else.

I've done something you haven't done. (I kind of doubt it, but maybe I'll come up with some. She posted ten; I'll try, but no guarantees. If you've shared my experience, post a comment so I can strike it and see how many I end up with. Also, she did a lot of brushes-with-celebrity, so those are the things that popped into my mind first.)

1. Watched a taping of "Will & Grace".
2. Watched a taping of "Ellen".
3. Watched a taping of "Normal, Ohio."
4. Shared a raised eyebrow across a room with Laura Kightlinger.
5. Made John Gorka too flustered to play his music.
6. Moved coast-to-coast (California to New York) and back again in the space of two months.
7. Had my mother walk in on my first sexual experience, though she didn't realize it.
8. Been told by my doctor that he would trade his bank balance for my cholesterol number.
9. Cheated on someone I'd never met.
10. Climbed down (and back up again) a high, perilous cliff for the express purpose of being nude in public.

Elaboration on request.

I don't think I've ever met a celebrity of any kind in my life, except that one space shuttle astronaut, so you're safe from me. :-)

I've fired a shoulder-mounted missile at a tank. That's the whole extent of my list, I think!

Astronauts are *way* cooler than TV stars.

#9: TOTGA (The One That Got Away(tm)) and I fell in love over the internet. After we fell in love, zie revealed that zie was married and that zir spouse didn't know about me. I still loved zir, zie still loved me, and we continued to spend time together, though we knew it was wrong. Zie tried to break up with me five times, but it didn't take, and I wasn't strong enough to tell zir to go away. I'd never been in love before.

Anyway, around the same time, I developed a crush on a poly, nudist guy (Naked Guy) whose wife *did* know about me and was fine with me. He wanted to come out to San Diego to spend a week with me. When he proposed it, TOTGA and I were broken up, but I knew zie hated Naked Guy, and we had only been broken up for a few days. I said yes anyway, told Naked Guy he could come out, but that I didn't know if we would have sex. He was fine with that.

The next day, TOTGA came back to me, and I told zir about the Naked Guy thing. Zie wanted me to cancel, but I refused. I did tell zir, though, that I hadn't agreed to sex with Naked Guy. Zie begged me not to have sex with this guy zie hated. I said I wouldn't promise that, but that I would tell zir if it looked likely.

As it turned out, Naked Guy and I had sex almost immediately upon his arrival, and I was too chicken-shit to tell TOTGA that I had fallen into bed with this person zie hated, so I let zir believe for nearly a week that I wasn't sleeping with Naked Guy. When I caved and told zir the truth, zie felt (because zie was) utterly betrayed. Some people wouldn't call it cheating. I do. (Not to mention that we were cheating on zir spouse just by being together and in love by not telling zir.)

#10: While Naked Guy was in town, we decided to do stuff we hadn't done before. He hadn't had sex in public, so we did. I hadn't been to a nude beach, so we went. The nude beach in San Diego can be reached from one of three directions: A three-mile walk from one of the adjacent beaches, or down a steep cliff that's so high it's officially a glider port. On the day we went (early February), it had rained, so there were lots of signs telling us not to risk the climb, but we weren't going to be turned back. The climb was difficult, muddy, and dangerous, and I was far more exhilarated by it than about taking my clothes off in public, which has never been a huge deal for me. (The thing I really remember about the trip, though, was only mostly succeeding at not staring at an elderly man who was running down the beach and had -- I shit you not -- at least a foot-long penis. It was the most compelling thing.)

I've cheated on someone I never met. At least *he* thought it was
cheating--I didn't. Does that still count?

Hmm. Good question, but I think I have to say no, unless I get more information (which you're under no pressure to give me) that tells me you agreed to one thing and did another.

i've cheated on someone i've never met. And it fits your criteria in there. It wasn't fun. Oh well, had we met, it never would have worked anyway.

Remind me about the John Gorka thing again, please? I am fuzzy on the details.

You asked me to give him a message if I saw him. Went to a concert at a small venue. Left a note on his music stand. It dropped to the floor, so he didn't notice it until halfway through the second set. He read it. He said "Huh." Several times. Tried to start playing. Stopped. Said "Huh." Kept trying to shake it off. It took several minutes. He never said a word about it. Then he went on with the show. He seemed startled and slightly amused.

Oh, yeah. I still owe him a bag of White Castles, too.

I read #10, several times, as "being rude in public."

Actually, it wasn't until I read your response all the way through before I finally saw "nude", so I was like, "Where's the end of the story! This is all very polite!"
