There's a pot of pork simmering in the slow-cooker (it's for stonebender's birthday dinner) and a head of elephant garlic roasting in the oven (for the mashed potatoes). The rain is falling outside, and a borrowed copy of "Hotel California" is playing on the stereo. I walked with someotherguy in the rain to get coffee. My house is nearly clean, I'm dry except for my hair, and I've got hours to finish up and head over for dinner. David Sedaris was on the radio, and they had Torani at the store.

And that's the long way of saying that I feel like some angel from some heaven I don't even believe in came down and asked me what my perfect life would look like, and then gave it to me.
