If you want, name at least one good thing that's happened to you as the result of LiveJournal. Here are some of mine:

Met two of my partners (actually, met one through LJ, and then that one introduced me to the other one).
Helped get someone who was suicidal into the hospital.
Found [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl, which is an utter joy to me and my family.
Found oneword, which helps me write on days when I don'wanna.

And you?

Helped get someone who had tried to commit suicide (a fairly decent attempt, too) into hospital. Zie is now well on the road to recovery.

Got back in touch with a long-lost Usenet friend, and through zir met a bunch of wonderful people.

I'm sure there will be others, but those are the two that immediately come to mind.

Wow, it sounds silly, but a lot of good has happened to me because of livejournal. I reconnected with a friend ([livejournal.com profile] rantfaery), and livejournal provided a place for us to air our immature silliness (ie *drama*).

Livejournal helped me stay connected to my old veglist friends, which I am very happy about.

Thanks for reminding me about craftgrrl. I love that community, and since Ben was born, it sort of fell out of the communities I read. I need to return : )

Sometimes I read the most amazing things that leave me feeling very grateful for being allowed to share people's lives like this.

Learned new things about lots of people I already found interesting.

Has happened, still happens:

Browsing idly through the friends-of-my-friends and stumbling onto fascinating people who are also terrific writers. And then getting to know them well enough to consider them friends (and even meeting some of them face to face.)

Were it not for LJ, I'd probably never have encountered [livejournal.com profile] misia or [livejournal.com profile] seraphimsigrist or [livejournal.com profile] copperwise (among many others). And folks I'd heard of for years via other friends, but never managed to "meet" - [livejournal.com profile] elisem, [livejournal.com profile] jonsinger, [livejournal.com profile] filkertom, [livejournal.com profile] mactavish ...

I came here to catch up with friends I was no longer seeing elsenet; I've enjoyed the opportunity to get better acquainted with people I still encounter on Usenet groups (like you, my dear). But the big surprise was and continues to be the discovery of wonderful folks I probably never would have met.

Met my current boyfriend [livejournal.com profile] common_as_stone, 3 in-person friends [livejournal.com profile] bryan_parrish, [livejournal.com profile] zeeohee and [livejournal.com profile] jameslentz, learned a lot about veganism and polyamory (among other topics), inspired others/been inspired, learned self-control in terms of not getting involved in pointless arguments (via the debate community).
