Meetup

Biggest Meetup meeting yet. 10 of us, I think, and it was nice. Now that Meetup is going to charge a fee, some people want to leave the site and others want to continue. I just can't get up any emotion about it one way or the other. I am feeling pretty fulfilled socially, and the Meetups always cost us more money than we can really afford, so my inclination is to turn it over to someone else. But I really did like seeing everyone, and handing out tacky gifts, typo girls.

My MeetUp group is moving to Yahoogroups, because with only 3 of us at the last MeetUp, there just aren't enough people to make even $9USD worth it.

I have a feeling that MeetUp is going to find that they have made a big mistake, and are going to lose a lot of groups, and a lot of goodwill.
