Finally made an appointment with Planned Parenthood to look at my weird gyn problem. I've finally gotten to where I'm *willing* to have an orgasm, even though it hurts, but it still hurts, which obviously sucks. But I'm going in on the 26th to have it looked at. I'm sure that's more than any of you wanted to know. :-)

At the, umm, crest of my orgasm, when the muscles are clearly contracting, I feel a bad cramp in my uterus. It's similar to the "cramp" I felt during my cervical biopsies. It hurts quite a bit, and then when I'm done coming, it stops hurting. I have no idea what it is, but I do wonder if there's such a thing as a cervical hernia, because it feels like I'm pinching something at the moment of orgasm. Very frustrating. It's been like this for about a month and a half. It came on suddenly. I thought it might be a bruise or pulled muscle (I had some strenuous sex the night before), but it hasn't improved at all, so I think that's unlikely.

No, no, no...women need to talk about this stuff. There are *so* many women walking around with girlparts issues they don't talk about because they think it's too gross, weird, or otherwise TMI. But sometimes there are clear fixes for things that others could tell them about if only they'd share! Sometimes there are no clear fixes, but it's helpful to share with others who've been there.

And some of us are just morbidly curious. ;-)

I really want to know how it hurts. As in genuinely, not as in desperately. But I have so many weird genital issues myself that other people's issues help me feel normal.

I think you should get it checked, because I have recently discovered that there are *loads* of unlikely things that can go wrong in there and they can most of them be fixed. A cervical hernia sounds quite plausible to me, though I think it might be called something like a partially prolapsed (whichever bit is caught).

If it was a bruise it should have healed by now, but a pulled muscle could be bad for ages if it's not in an easy place to treat.

Does everything feel normal to the unmedical hand? I used to get Rob to check me before making doctors appointments, when I was discovering a new birth injury almost every week. It was easier to get the tuits when I had more information.

Don't feel badly - lots of guys also have serious issues with going to a doctor to have the plumbing checked out. It feels, well, embarrasing to sit there and answer questions; kind of like when you were a kid and your mother asked you about your bowel movements in front of the rest of the family.

Er... or was that just me?

Oh, I'm not embarrassed at all to talk to doctors (or all of Usenet) about plumbing stuff -- it's just that in the winter I have trouble getting up the tuits to get stuff like this done, especially now that I have no health insurance.
