You know you're an introvert when spending an hour or three in your house without speaking to a soul is a complete refreshment of your psyche.

Good week, full of people, and I'm over it. :-) Visitors are nice, and I'm liking having sogwife's sweetie here, but this couple of hours of quiet and solitude while they're out of the house are really really nice.

Tomorrow, I may barricade myself in my room with a book and a DVD -- I still have Angels In America to watch.

I just had my 8 year old niece here over night I love her to death but she constently talks. We had a great day and night but I was glad to send her home. I needed the quiet.

I used to take entire weekends by myself at a little bed and breakfast in Half Moon Bay. I could spend the entire time speaking with no one except when it was necessary in order to eat, and that made me very happy :). I need alone time, and I'll get it one way or another.

Lately, I've been protecting my aloneness mainly by announcing that I'm not feeling sociable. My partners have been really good about cutting me a wide boundary when I do.

I tend to be very extroverted (in case you didn't notice right away ;-> ), but even *I* like to get some peace and quiet alone, sometimes. :-)

I have actually found you to be rather quiet when we've met. Asked to describe you, "extraverted" wouldn't have crossed my mind, but I've spent very little time around you, and I've clearly gotten the wrong first impressions. :-) (Plus, I'm introverted, but not shy or quiet, so I give a wrong impression myself.)

The extroverted vs. introverted designation is something that I've gathered more from others. Sometimes I feel shy; but most people who know me just laugh if I suggest I might be introverted. But, like everyone else, I'm a collage.

I *am*, though, *very* social. I can be around people a *lot* -- and be quite happy about it. As a child, I was alone a lot and was very good at keeping myself entertained (reading, say, or wandering out in the fields: we were kind of out in the country); but I've become increasingly social with time -- and a hell of a lot less shy. Although it depends on my mood, I think it would be fair to characterize me, in general, as very outgoing.

This is also the first time in quite a while that someone has used "quiet" to describe me -- at least to my knowledge. Now I can refer back to your comment when I want to claim that I can be quiet: at least *you're* in on the secret. ;->
