It really, really is. (You know, don't you, that you and Tim make me feel perfectly comfortable in believing I'll be with these amazing people for decades?)
We had a three-year-old friend who loved shrimp. Her parents put some of the cooked-and-thawed stuff out at a party and I swear the kid ate it non-stop for an hour. Her mom said "Wow, F, you're sure eating a lot of shrimp," and F looked up at her with glee and said, in a cute growly voice, "MMmmmmmm, MIMP!" Since then, that's code in my family for something really yummy.
But why I used the icon is because later in the evening, F's dad was sitting next to her and she offered him some mimp. He said no thank you, and she looked at him amazed and said, "But daddy, you WUV mimp!" And when I said I was schmoopy just now, the geeky-schmoopy partner said, "But Neen*, you WUV schmoopy!"
In my case, it's a misremembering of "Smoofy" or something like that, from Mad About You. ("No, you're smoofy, no YOU'RE smoofy." or something like that.) I'm not sure where everyone else is getting it. I should google it to see when it showed up on Usenet. ;-)
