sereneIt will be a challenge today to make myself do anything at all. Well, anything I don't want to do, anyway. I've already been to the bank to cash the second of my three (very belated) bar exam checks, then to the Grocery Outlet to go insane buying groceries. As you may know, I should be spending today laying out the Fall issue of the magazine, which I've got to get to the printer tomorrow, but am I? Not yet. Maybe later. This is my only day off at home for the next couple weeks, and I'm savoring it.
Current Books: Just finished a mediocre Ridley Pearson mystery (No Witnesses); currently reading Anne McCaffrey's Coelura, Judith Hayes's The Happy Heretic, and Jon Robertson's Apocalypse Chow
Current Playlist: I don't really do playlists the way most people do; I don't select the songs and the order, just hit shuffle on either a genre or artist. I have the following lists on my music player: "chick rock", "My Top Rated (this playlist came with the player)", "no tmbg (I have SO much TMBG that just hitting "random" will mean lots of their stuff. When I'm not in the mood for that, I hit random on this playlist)", "rock", and "ccblof" (which is a combination of Counting Crows and BLØF, my go-to music these days).
Current Guilty Pleasure: I don't do guilty pleasures any more. I have lots of non-guilty ones, and I like them more.
Current Color: ? I'm wearing red, white, and black. Is that what they mean, do you think?
Current Drink: Nothing. I should go get a glass of juice. There, that's better. Orange juice.
Current Food: I'm eating roasted garlic Triscuits with my orange juice.
Current Favorite Show: Hmm. Probably The Good Wife.
Current Wishlist: Hmmmm. This is a hard quiz for me. Most of my wishes are intangibles or pipe dreams. I wish my mom were healthy. I wish I had the courage to really go out and sell the magazine to bookstores. I wish everyone in my family had health insurance.

Current Celebrity Crush: My newest boyfriend (no, he doesn't know it) is Jason Segel. I reckon it won't last.
Current Indulgence: I took the whole bar-exam check to the Grocery Outlet and spent almost the whole damn thing on so many groceries that I could barely push the cart. I am my mother's daughter. I had a blast.
Current Blessing: My family. My awesome job. My even more awesome bosses. NPR. The internet. My magazine.
Current Slang: I say a lot of silly slang stuff, most of it way out of date.
Current Outfit: Red-and-white striped tank top, black miniskirt.
Current Excitement: It's silly. I'm excited that I'm making chiles rellenos for dinner.
Current Mood: Worn out.
