[livejournal.com profile] bayarts has tagged me for the idiosyncracies thing. I don't actually think I have any *unique* ones (considering that I share 2.5 of hers, and at least one of most lists I've read -- nearly all of [livejournal.com profile] kightp's). But here goes:

1. I can only get to sleep on my right side.
2. I like to cut the sponges I use for washing dishes in half, so I can tell them from the ones I use for cleaning.
3. I have to walk on walls, benches, curbs. Okay, I don't HAVE to, but I do whenever I can.
4. I name all my houseplants, but not my food plants.
5. I don't own a microwave, and I don't want to.

  • I count things - all kinds of things - and in different languages if I'm in that kind of mood. ichi, ni, san...
  • I have to be 10 mins early, otherwise I'm late.
  • I drink molasses tea - blackstrap, slaked with lemon (it's to keep my iron count up)
  • I get great pleasure from spending much time and effort in finding the most 'moral' products (in the shops which are independent vegan ethical...), even if I end up compromising.

I can only sleep on my right side now if I'm laying down. (I can sleep on my back in a recliner)

and #2 is an *excellent idea!* I don't often use sponges for washing dishes (I use dish wands and brushes), but I usually keep one in the basket in case I need it. Since I use them rarely they get bacteria filled before they've gotten a reasonable amount of use. Cutting those in half will save money and sponges, and it will help me know that they're only for dishes.

I'm similar abou thte sleeping thing. I can usually only get to sleep if I start on my right side then roll over to my left just as I'm about to fall asleep.

Well, short ones. Whenever we walk by a retaining wall or a bus bench, or a garden border that looks enough like a balance beam to make me wanna balance on it, I do. Nowadays, it doesn't even slow up our walks; [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy just holds my hand as I walk the thing and we carry on.

Huh. In my system, a dish sponge eventually gets demoted to a cleaning sponge. I'd have to sew them back together!
