Does anyone else find the lj tagging process emotionally draining? I had
to quit after a few months of 2003. I'm up to June now, but it'll have to
wait.

Depending on which part I'm doing, yea. Which is why I did back to January 1 of this year and stopped. This year has been a good year; others, not quite so much. :)

When tags didn't exist and I was indexing lots of back posts via memories, yes, it was very emotionally draining. Same thing with sorting old photographs. :-/

Yes. Because I want to write what I wrote well enough to know what tags are needed. And I write a lot!

I'm not going back and doing a comprehensive re-tagging; I've used Memories pretty extensively, so I'll just stick with that for the archives. To do otherwise would involve insane amounts of time that I don't have.

But yeah, I can imagine it would be a lot like having your life pass before your eyes.

Depends on the post, but I do sometimes. Mainly the ones about my job and difficulties with my mother, though that's thankfully all sorted so it's easier than it would otherwise be.

I took a class in indexing for library school. There's a reason I haven't gone back an dtagged either my lj or riba_rambles. Even without emotional issues to deal with, it's an arduous process

fortunately, my posts only go back to last november, so i think i hit them all pretty quick, but it was pretty icky.

I have, IIRC, close to 800 posts I'd have to go through to get everything retroactively tagged, with some of that having been during a not-terribly-fun part of my life. So I haven't taken that on, at least not yet.
