[Bay Area: No filter, but skip it if you don't care]

I don't have a Bay Area filter, but this is a Bay Area question:

dryadgrl are planning our birthday bash (September 17th -- save
the date!), and we want to have a kid-friendly gathering in or near
Oakland, near a BART station, where we can have food and drinks. We are
thinking about renting the Temescal pool or going to the park across the
street from my house (which is small but nice) -- any other ideas? Do you
have a favorite place to have picnic/barbecue-type gatherings? Or is there an indoor, kid-friendly place you can think of? We don't mind spending some money on the venue.

P.S. If your own place fits the criteria -- close to public transportation, kid-friendly -- and you feel like letting us invade for an afternoon, I would do all the cooking and cleaning.
