tummy ache. bleah. stop it!

In other news, 6 days, 2 shifts left to go. Tonight was the closest I've come to walking out on this job, but it's because a cow-orker was being clueless, not because of the job itself.

Preparing for T-day. Just made a list of all the serving containers/utensils I'll need. Tomorrow, we'll go thrifting for what we can find (if I'm well enough -- please, tummy, stop aching). And then Tuesday I have a special employee-discount day at Ikea, and I can get the rest. They don't sell chafing dishes, though, so I'll need to get one at a thrift shop or borrow one. Anyone have one you're not using? I'll clean it up really well when I'm done!

Thank you, sweetness! And I didn't even have any dairy, I don't think. Ouchy. May have to miss seeing [livejournal.com profile] firecat because of it, and that's making me sad.

I don't have a chafing dish but I have lot's of other dishes and a big platter and you're welcome to borrow anything I have. I also have the big crockpot if that would be appropriate to keep anything warm.

If you don't find/borrow a chafing dish, I can recommend a restaurant supply store in Oakland that has some decent prices plus it's just so fun to shop in! And I think Costco usually has chafing dishes too.

And YEAH on the countdown!!

I won't be at Nomad for the next two weeks. This Thursday it's a Harry Potter marathon for some friends of mine and I, and next Thursday for obvious reasons.

*hugs* See you after T-Day.

Maybe I'll write a poem about my caving adventure.

Oh man, all the cooking stuff I've got and here I have no idea what a "chafing dish" is other than its role in the "Eddystone Light" song. Anyway, I hope you feel better ASAP and that all your preparations go well.

I awoke at 5:45 this morning thinking about your orphans' T-day and wondering if anyone around here does anything like that. I'd be open to suggesting it on a mailing list or two, but I don't want a bunch of strangers knowing where I live. Maybe I can suggest a public place to have it. I've already had one T-day dinner this year, but it would be nice to celebrate it in my new home city.

Hope your tummy feels better soon!
