Miscellany
Nov. 14th, 2005 09:28 pmStayed up with a sick tummy until nearly 4am. Woke at 10 after sleeping terribly, then went back to bed a little while later. Slept until noon and woke up in a *foul* mood. Took me an hour or so to come down off of that, and I felt bad for leaking it on my partners, but they took it pretty well. I'm fairly well-behaved when I'm in a bad mood -- I'm much more likely to close the bedroom door and cry to myself than to, say, bark at people or something -- but it still feels bad to me to be upset around folk.
Went looking in thrift shops for stuff for T-day. Didn't have much luck. Wasn't feeling social at all, but my partners and I did our best to put our mutual bad moods aside and be nice to each other. Went to Spud's in Berkeley and had potato pizza -- weird. Later, went to Longs with
someotherguy, where we found several things I needed -- pie servers, extra butter dish, pop-up turkey timer thingies, laces for the turkey, etc. Didn't find a gravy boat (I would really like two) or a chafing dish. When I get paid this week, I may go to the restaurant supply place that
loracs likes and just get ones I like.
Oh, and we got this and a heavy-duty scrub brush. It can be a challenge keeping a 750-square-foot linoleum floor clean.
Have I mentioned how excited I am about the prospect of being home more?
OH! and I have pics to post from Thursday's reading, but they're on the desktop computer. Did I also mention that my broken laptop is, for some reason, working again?
Oh, and we got Spinal Tap in the bargain-dvd bin. Bonus!
For a sucky day, guess it wasn't so bad. Hope yours was marvelous.
