Totally agree. This country is dead meat. And guess who gets to pay the damages from an international lawsuit? I think this is definitely legitimate grounds for impeachment.

Have we no shame? Or rather, I am ashamed for my government because it would certainly seem they have none for themselves!

Once again, the mainstream US media gets the store a full week after it's been fully covered by the foreign press and the blogosphere...

I'm pretty sure I remember hearing about this last week from US sources. It's all abuzz today because the Pentagon has suddenly changed its tune. Here's a link to an ABC wire story about it from a week ago (http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=1292921).

I'm so tired of my government always being the bad guy.

I love my US friends though - if it wasn't for all the friends I've made online I might think that all US citizens supported this barbaric regime (I'm sorry, but I consider the circumstances of the Bush ascent to power not to have been exactly the result of a democratic election).
I KNOW there are many people in the US working for democracy and peace. I'm not entirely proud of my own government here in the UK either ... how these people can stand up and complain about other governments is quite beyond me.

I'm not so sure about your conclusions

I'm not sure where I would lay the blame, as the report didn't say anything about how the decisions were made to develop, manufacture, stockpile, or deploy the weapons. There could be plenty of blame to go around.

That, and I'm not sure that any particular way of intentionally inflicting horrific injuries is somehow better or worse than any other way of intentionally inflicting horrific injuries. Dresden vs Hiroshima.

there were reports of this way back when it happened. back then people said you would have to be crazy to believe such things. *sigh*

There is a reason why most other nations have declared white phosphorus illegal. Trying to say that it is okay to use because the USA has not declared if off limits is about as acceptable as that it is okay for the USA to torture people because .... well, at least there are US laws against torture.
