The pain from my broken foot is lessening (I've been good about wearing sturdy shoes and not walking more than a mile at a time). The pain from my shoulder (pinched nerve) is lessening. Suddenly, I have energy I haven't seen in days. Thank goodness. Being in pain is so exhausting!

You broke your foot??? How did I miss that?

*belated soothing noises*

Glad the pain is diminishing.

Thanks, sweetie. It's a stress fracture, probably from all the walking (and a couple iterations of running for a bus/train). Slow healing, annoying, but not serious.

Working on my first blog entry for gather -- it's probably gonna be called The Angst of the Atheist Hippychick. ;-)

I feel bad; I didn't know either. Sorry to hear about it, although glad it's getting better...

It sure is exhausting! I'm glad the pain is decreasing. Yay for LESS PAIN and for MORE ENERGY!

Pain Sucks Energy Big Time

In the exercise frenzy of the last decade they use to say "No Pain, No Gain" and I always said "Pain is natures way of saying 'Stop That', so listen up." So happy to hear you are feeling better.

yep, she does. and she is absolutely right, certified words from the pain doc (you met her, Loracs).

pain is also recognized as another vital sign now. even if it subjective, you can usually assign a number (0 = none, 10 = I'm literally jumping out of my skin) and you'll usually be consistent in your numbers, so if you are a 6 today, you'll know when it ramps up to 7, or you get a day off and it is only 4 or 5.

I didn't know about the broke foot either, but I knew you were having various aches and pains, including problems with doing too much of your beloved walking.
