sereneI was having a bit of a stressy day (hormonal + circumstances), and you may be expecting me to say that my boyfriends saved the day, but no. Lovely as the boyfriends were today, and always are, the kid saved the day. The kid was cheerful and helpful and christmassy. She decorated the house (with a little help from me) and spiffed up the tree/gifts (with VERY little help from me), and painted my portrait to give to ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
someotherguy as a christmas present. He knows about it already, so I'm going to post a couple of pics under the cut. It's her first portrait done in paints rather than pencil, and I really love it, especially because I got to sit and watch it become what it is.
I'm posting two pics. She says to tell you the first one shows the painting better, but the second one is truer to the colors.
She was such a joy today, and has been a joy in general for months. I really really like this kid, and I'm so happy to have her here. That really is my very best gift this year.
