Just got home from spending the day with [livejournal.com profile] stonebender, which was really truly great (we saw "Capote" [edit: spoilers in comments] -- one down, four to go), but now I'm so so so exhausted, as though I'd actually *done* something all day. So I shall do a survey while I sit and listen to the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack. [livejournal.com profile] sogwife is making dinner for herself and [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy, then we're gonna watch a movie, but for now, I'm gonna sit and veg out.

Which is longer: your big toe or your 2nd toe?: Second, I think, but I have on my cute socks (the ones made from gay muppets), so I'm not sure.

What brand of toilet paper do you use?: If it were left up to me, I'd use Scott, because it lasts a lot longer, but one of my partners has a strong preference for two-ply, so that's what we tend to buy.

Which do you prefer: Target, Kmart or Walmart?: Target. We have no K-Mart near by that I'm aware of, and I will not shop at Wal-Mart.

On which color chair are you sitting?: black and grey

My Little Ponies or Care Bears?: Neither. I'm thirty-nine, not nine.

Crayola or Roseart?: Crayola

Go in your room, turn left and keep walking: Smack dab into a wall.

How many scarves do you own?: Until yesterday, one. I gave it away, though. I don't like stuff on my neck.

What was the last picture you took of?: Probably dinner. I take a lot of pictures of food. I like posting them so people can tell me my dinner looks yummy. I'm a very strange individual.

What's your computer desktop look like?: The Microsoft Default, I think. I always have windows open, so I don't see it that often.

What color is your bathroom?: White and beige, I think.

How many rooms are in your house?: Four: Main room (living/dining/kitchen), bathroom, storeroom, bedroom.

What was the last thing you smiled at?: [livejournal.com profile] stonebender, though I try not to call him a thing. They feel so dehumanized when you do that.

What was the last thing that confused the hell out of you?: The State of the Union address

Whats the last movie that you watched? Capote, but in about a half hour, we're gonna watch Krull.

Which Beatle are you? (Paul, John, George, or Ringo): I'm none of them. I'm probably Linda Eastman McCartney.

What kind of laundry detergent do you use?: Unscented.

What color is your front door?: The outer door is black, the inner door is white with windows.

When you give presents, do you wrap them in a gift bag or wrapping paper?: whatever i've got around, usually a re-given bag.

Crayons or Markers?: depends what i am doing, silly!

Would you rather prance or hop?: i'll steal [info] <http://mountain-lion.livejournal.com/profile>mountain_lion <http://mountain-lion.livejournal.com/>'s answer.. Frolic

Starbucks or Caribou Coffee?: I've never had Caribou, and I won't shop at Starbucks (have never tasted it), so I'll say Peets.

If you have a cell phone, what color is it?: N/A

Have you ever changed a light bulb?: Of course! Are there people who are physically able to change lightbulbs who haven't?

Can you make an omelette?: Yep, a really good one. You should try my brie-and-asparagus, or my goat-cheese-and-crab some time.

What is the most boring dream you've ever had?: Oh, I should bring out my old dream journal and make you snore with the boredom.

If you wrote a song, what would you call it?: I wrote songs in high school, but damned if I remember a single one.

Blue, black or red pen?: Whichever color presents itself. I still love colored pens, even though I think they make me appear childish when I use them for anything besides doodling.

What teacher do you want to punch in the face? I don't want to punch anyone in the face, but Mrs. Urbanek in kindergarten spanked me with a paddle every single day because I couldn't/wouldn't nap on command, and I wish someone had fired her for that.

Did The Notebook make you cry?: didn't see it. no desire to.

Where did you get the pants you are wearing?: I'm wearing my slinky black skirt. I have two of the identical skirt. One cute-poet-chick bought me, and one I got with my mom at the five-dollar clothing store.

If you were a magnet what would you look like?: A fat mermaid.

If you were a mix tape, what would the first song be?: Ani DiFranco's "Not A Pretty Girl"

What's the most boring color?: White

Have you ever wanted to go cow tipping?: No, and it baffles me that anyone does.

Which one do you like more: Waynes World 1 or 2?: *shrug*

Have you ever gotten into an intense argument with an inanimate object?: Not that I can remember, but my tinfoil hat is falling off, so I'll let you know.

Capote was good. Not great, but good, and some performances were great. More after some spoiler space:

Hoffman was *superb* as Capote. Catherine Keener was understatedly excellent as Harper Lee. Clifton Collins was very very very good. Bob Balaban was Bob Balaban. The writing could have been tighter, especially around the end. But the bestest parts for me were the way Hoffman played Capote without caricaturing him, and how the film dealt with his simultaneous genius, depth of understanding, and complete self-absorption. For Capote, these people whose lives he's turning into a novel are not people -- they're opportunities for him to write the book he's been meant to write all his life. And then at the end, he seems to get that, but it doesn't penetrate his Everything-Is-About-Me mentality. That was *masterfully* done.

I am appalled by your kindergarten teacher. I can't imagine such a situation. Yes, she should have been fired and blacklisted. Wow.
