This recipe makes me remember I wanna have a trashy-food party. You know, cheese-whiz everywhere, vats of mayo-based dishes, casseroles with canned condensed cream-of-something soup...

Who's game?

Oh, I so wish I lived closer! I have books of those types of recipes...

With Jello? I'm shocked.

I *hate* Jell-o, but those salads are so symbolic of the kind of white-trash food that populated so many potlucks when I was little. :-) When I was growing up, "Swedish meatballs" came in a sweet sauce that I've since found out contained *grape jelly*, of all things.

I can make those Swedish meatballs for you, just say the word. Grape jelly and bottled chili sauce. MMMmmmmm.

I'd love to attend a trash food party. Maybe I'd even bring my Undescended Twinkies.

Except for that troublesome distance thing, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

And if you need references, I've got the perfect cookbook: Jane and Michael Stern's "American Gourmet," a collection of fancy and not-so fancy party foods from the '50s and '60s...

I am *so* there. Mayo-based potato salad? Cold fried chicken? Coleslaw? Chile casserole? Whatsyerpoison?

I could be convinced. You'd be amazed what can be done with pork rinds. :)

I'd be there

I could always do my fathers favorite hot rolls. Can we say "sodium overload"

My instinctive reaction to that recipe was "hurk!"
