This recipe makes me remember I wanna have a trashy-food party. You know, cheese-whiz everywhere, vats of mayo-based dishes, casseroles with canned condensed cream-of-something soup...
I *hate* Jell-o, but those salads are so symbolic of the kind of white-trash food that populated so many potlucks when I was little. :-) When I was growing up, "Swedish meatballs" came in a sweet sauce that I've since found out contained *grape jelly*, of all things.
Except for that troublesome distance thing, I'd be there in a heartbeat.
