Okay, geeky readers, and you know who you are, how incredibly cool is this?

(This guy lives in my neighborhood, for some loose value of "neighborhood" -- I followed his link on freecycle because I wanted to know what it could be. Man, I love this stuff. I'm going to add his shows to my calendar.)

I remember seeing that bookcase somewhere awhile ago (maybe years). It is very cool. Although I get a little queasy thinking about the books being destroyed as books anyway. However that is my own personal bugaboo. Beautiful stuff.

I've gotten over the "OMG book desecration!!!" phobia by realizing that recycling books into beautiful artwork is a whole lot better than having them wind up in a landfill, as many of the titles this guy uses almost certainly will.

And his work is really, really wonderful.

Yeah, my head agrees with you. It's my stomach that's the problem.

I have the same gut reaction. But then I see that he has finally found a use for those old Encyclopedia Brittanicas and then I feel better. :)

My first thought was of you and [livejournal.com profile] loracs -- you need to send a picture of your book tiles to this guy. He would appreciate them. And maybe he could do a Christmas-book shelf for her.

I thought of your "books" when I saw the bookshelf with the title "You can't eat that." or perhaps I can get that for Pat.

Wow--thanks for an amazing link.

The guy who makes Klein bottles (http://www.kleinbottle.com/) also lives in your neighborhood. You can get them in blown glass, origami, knitted from wool. . . .

cool stuff
