Oh, and the new Netflixes came, so I'll also be watching South Park, Good Night and Good Luck, and Walk the Line this weekend. Not to mention lots more Lost if [livejournal.com profile] sogwife is up for it.

We have a nearly-conjoined weekend! My zip.ca (like netflix but in Canada) movies came in, so I'll apparently be watching 2010: The Year We Make Contact, Cowboy Bebop: The Movie and Matchstick Men. (??? This is apparently what happens when you allow a bunch of your friends access to add movies to your movie list.) Also, I'm hoping to torrent this week's Lost and watch it.

Can you not re-order your list? Me, I tell my partners to put whatever they want on the list, because I'm unlikely to find anything on there that I *don't* want to watch, but sometimes I move things up when I especially want to see them (like Good Night...)

It's not quite as flexible as netflix in that respect. You can choose to "rent" a movie, which means you bump it immediately to the top of your queue and simultaneously bump yourself immediately to the top of *its* queue, but you pay a fee to do so. You can also put listings on hold, which just means that you're guaranteed *not* to get them until you take them off hold. But other than that, you get them in the order stuff becomes available. (They do seem to have some algorithm / scheme for giving you the discs of sets and the episodes of episodic things in order, though, and boosting the likelihood of your getting the next part of an episodic thing next if you've previously received and earlier part.)

Oh, I see. That would be mildly frustrating for me, but not terribly, as I usually don't have very specific movie moods.

I do get very specific movie moods, but I'm approaching it as a way to learn to be more flexible. [livejournal.com profile] okoshun has this technique with her cravings where even if she's craving something, she can enjoy other things almost indefinitely and sort of keep that craving in stasis until the opportunity comes. It seems like a useful skill.
