Good stuff from the last couple of days:

1) Helped [livejournal.com profile] stonebender do a really fun thing.

2) Had [livejournal.com profile] dryadgrl and her kiddo over last evening. Kiddo was a pleasure, as was talking with [livejournal.com profile] dryadgrl about how great it is to be in love with someone who goes out of zir way to do sweet things for you.

3) Watched "Walk the Line" with [livejournal.com profile] sogwife (ended it even more impressed with Reese Witherspoon and even more depressed by Hollywood than before)

4) Shaved my legs for the first time in more than 20 years, on a sort of whim, and like how it feels, so I did it again this morning.

5) Had a long, intimate evening with someone who really gets me. ([livejournal.com profile] someotherguy thought it would be fun to shave my vulva to match my legs, and it was, and I felt really taken care of as he spent tons of time making sure to get it just right)

In not-so-fun stuff:

1) Can't find the MS Office disk a friend kindly lent me, and now I have to either find it or use Word 97, which I hope will do what I need it to. I was dumb to wipe my hard drive before figuring out if I had the software handy. I told the contract client that I have a computer situation of Laurel-and-Hardy proportions, and he said he's in no hurry, so I'll either be able to do it today at home, or I'll see if [livejournal.com profile] loracs will let me use her computer to do it tomorrow.

2) Massive headache upon waking means I may not feel up to going to the gardening class I signed up for for today.

Hurray for the good stuff, boo for the computer problems and the headache.
And of course you can use my computer, if needed.

I quite like how shaved feels when it's recent. Leave it a couple of days and I really don't though, and the commitment's too high for me to keep up reliably. Ask me in twenty years, I guess. Hope the headache shifts!

I am always glad to read of my brother getting to do fun stuff. Sorry for the bad stuff. Hope it all gets better!

1) Helped [personal profile] stonebender do a really fun thing. Most things I do with you are fun, (whether they are inherently fun or not.)

Hope your head feels better soon. :/ The shaving thing sounds hot. {fans herself} Why did Walk The Line depress you even more about Hollywood?

Wow that was quite the whim!

5.My hubby does that (he takes tender loving care of me) and when he is done he says it is a work of art! He gets soo pleased with himself too, he cannot stop smiling. It feels soo much better too.

I loved Walk the Line!

Thanks so much! I have 97 installed, and I'll see if it will do until I find the 2K disk I know is here somewhere. If not, I'll give you a holler, 'kay?

You could always try Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org/), though I don't have a lot of experience with it myself.

Sorry about the headache -- I've had too much of that myself lately due to too many late nights.

Open Office rocks. It lets me open, edit, and compose in all those MS formats my colleagues at work require without installing the damned MS software on my machine, and the applications are all straightforward and easy to use.

Do you know if it tracks changes in the way that MS does? In my work, when the client uses Word, I use the "track changes" option so they can see my edits.

Yep. It's got a different label (Edit > Changes opens a menu of options) but it works exactly the same way.

And it's free.

I'm happier about its being non-M$ than free. Yay! Thanks, all. I confess I'm gonna be chicken and do this job with Word, but I'm gonna install OpenOffice this week and play with it. Smooches all around.

Shaved my legs for the first time in more than 20 years, on a sort of whim, and like how it feels, so I did it again this morning.

It's only been about 10 years for me, give or take -- I shaved my ankles for a family wedding 8 years ago, but I was very off and on before that. I've been thinking about trying some of the new razor types to see if I hate the process any less now than I did then, but it feels rather like giving in to society and especialy familial pressure. Any thoughts?
