Food Allergies
none, but sensitive to milk
Foods I Don't Eat, ever
Veal
Foods I Don't Prefer, But Will Eat Occasionally or Pick Out of Mixed Dishes
Celery
Cinnamon
Cumin
Citrus-flavored things (real citrus is fine)
Cherry-flavored things (cherries are fine)
Grape-flavored things (grapes are fine)
General Principles about Food
I like fresh food -- veggies, fruit, homemade food. Not so big on prefab stuff, though I'll scarf it if I'm in the mood.
Olive oil, garlic and onions (esp. sweet ones) are my friends.
I have no sweet tooth, but I have a fat tooth -- I'll take something deep-fried or in a cream sauce over something sugary any day.
I don't mind spending money on food. It is my main luxury. Food shopping is therapy for me.
I enjoy being introduced to new spices, flavors and cuisines.
Soup is good food. Especially accompanied by good bread that's slathered with butter.
I moved to my current home in large part because it is walking-distance from the world's best place to buy good, cheap produce.
Cooking calms me, and feeding people makes me happy, though food is NOT love, and my feelings don't get hurt if someone doesn't want or like my food.
In order to feel like I've had a "real" meal, at least part of it has to be hot -- soup, stew, casserole, something cooked.

btw, my version of roasted asparagus-- no salt, but with lemon zest. I plan to try yours...so I thought I'd share mine.
