Jun. 20th, 2006 07:30 amAlmost missed my bus stop today because I was engrossed in my book. Well,
no, that's not strictly true. I was engrossed in the character. He's
Michael Connelly's Hieronymous Bosch, and I just realized why I am so
drawn to him. He's TOTGA[1]. Tall, brooding, quiet. Very moral and good,
but zir dark side has zir convinced zie's not a good person. Strongly
developed sense of what's right and wrong in the world, accompanied by an
undercurrent of anger and fatigue. Does the right thing as a matter of
course, so fucking up or doing the wrong thing eats at zir for a good long
time, and often results in self-destructive behaviors, either as
self-punishment, or as a rest from being so vigilant about zir
responsibilities all the time.
Reading the rest of the book will be weird, now that I've realized the
strange emotional connection.
