Yay, I'm learning CSS and PHP and I'm actually *understanding* them this time. ([livejournal.com profile] someotherguy is a great go-to guy for questions, but mostly I'm trying to learn from the w3schools website and php.net.) Finally, my sample pages are things I can understand and manipulate. Yay.

I visited my new community garden plot today, and not only is it way bigger than I thought, it includes an apple tree that I am free to eat the apples from! Yay!

I also get to get paid for a couple of hours of downtime at work because it's Staff Appreciation Day and I don't feel like attending the party, so I am in the office lying low.

And yay, I get to see [livejournal.com profile] stonebender, [livejournal.com profile] loracs, and K tonight. Very yay.

Hope your day is yay-ful, too.

Cool.

PHP.net is pretty good. Are there any other sites you recommend, because I'm working on brushing up my PHP skills?

Did you install Apache and php modules on your computer as a test bed?

Just don't even TRY PHP for Dummies.

And no, I just put my test pages up on the web and play with them right now, but soon, I will install the stuff [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy uses so I can test without going live (albeit live and buried in test directories).

Cool on the learning. I never really learnt PHP, doesn't look like the way I'd like to do things (but you'd probably hate the way I would!) - you're most likely better with CSS than I've ever bothered to be already :-)

Now I'm curious about the way you would, and what I would hate about it. :-)

Ooh. Those look like handy references. I have been trying to learn JavaScript, but I've gotten a little bogged down by my tutorial not having explained some bits in quite as much detail as I need to figure out how to expand beyond the bounds of exactly what the tutorial's covered. Also, it has become obvious to me that I must learn CSS, because my old-school HTML skills are really unbelievably out of date. So yay, useful websites!

Have I mentioned lately that I like you?

(Oh, and by the way, every rat post gets linked in email to [livejournal.com profile] sogwife so she can ooh and ahh over your babies. She lurves the rat babies, she does.)

:) Thank you. (Er, did something in this comment particularly remind you?)

Re: Rats:

It was just really fun to watch you get all geeky-excited. That's a really endearing quality to me. It was evident at the book party, too, in many of the folks there.

Nice site!
