Recovering. You know that feeling like you *were* sick, but you're not any more? That thing.

Still gonna take this opportunity to rest for the next few days. Finished Caucasia, and now I'm starting on The Gate to Women's Country. Haven't decided yet if I like it or will complete it. I've been doing this decluttering thing, and if I'm not engaged by the third or fourth chapter, out it goes. I'm on chapter one, and so far, not much engagement, but we'll see.

Oh, and food tastes much yummier today. Bonus. :-)

Yay!

Glad you're on the up and up healthwise.

I really enjoyed Gate to Women's Country, but then, I'm a Tepper fan through and through.

Resting is good. Sometimes the feeling like you were sick is more frustrating than being sick.

I'm curious about your reading. Sometimes I find a book will be engaging in the early chapters, then the the middle part, I'll find really blah-what do you do in those cases?

Honestly? These days, I am likely to toss it unless I'm still interested in finding out what happens to the characters. I have so many books and so little time, that I've become unwilling to waste time on a book I'm not enjoying. (The side benefit is that I've read far more good books this year, because I've had extra time from not reading bad ones. Usually I leave the bad ones on the bus for someone else, or give them to the thrift store, so I'm decluttering my shelves as I go.)

uh, did I catch this from you because I didn't wear gloves while noodling around in Live Journal? I swear, I washed my hands frequently.

I've been down since Thursday night, and while I keep getting better each day, it still has hold of me. GI distress from both ends, right?

I'm glad you're feeling better. you're onto something getting your recreational reading done. I've been drifting back and forth from TV to computer, with detours to bed. I think I'll try reading today.......

Just one end for me, but sounds like you may have what [livejournal.com profile] dbubley, [livejournal.com profile] stonebender, and I shared a month or two ago. Nasty! Feel better soon, dearheart!

Didn't make it past the first couple of chapters, sadly. There's something about a tone of language that I find in a lot of fantasy books that just leaves me cold. Oh, well.
