I know I should be less disappointed in losing a potential part-time gig than I was at being told I wasn't going to get hired for the Best Temp Job Ever, but it still made me cry.
Hot day at work (no air conditioning -- it's not broken, there just isn't any), and that disappointment kind of pushed me over the weepy edge. I'm okay, though. Bought us dinner at Cafe Colucci (good Ethiopian food and a nice walk to get there and back), went to Whole Foods and bought cheap-and-delicious truffles and some yummy spicy barbecue kettle chips, came home and watched the South Park movie, then had really yummy sex, made more yummy by the fact that I'm off the Pill right now, and I have some sensations back that were being dulled, I presume, by the Pill. I may never go back on it ever again. (I can afford not to if my period keeps self-regulating, and for the moment it appears to be doing so. We can use other birth control, and the partner it's an issue with has agreed to look into having a vasectomy.)
I probably shouldn't have drunk that Coke during the movie, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Oh, and I apparently will have a different job in the department as soon as I get back from Tokyo, so all is not lost. It's even sort of in my field (scanning and proofing documents). It will obviate the whole jobhunt thing, and if you know me at all, you know jobhunting is my very least favorite thing to do, even more loathsome than dental work or -- well, something really unpleasant.
Almost forgot, too, that I had a very nice, subdued evening with
golden_c_turtle last night. She's trying to get me a girlfriend. Speed-dating is not my bag. Oh, and she bosses me around, but I just tell her to shut up. We're perfect for each other.
