I used to get lots of wannafucks from random guys all over the world on OKCupid. Then I added the following to my profile:

Note: Please do not message me if all you're looking for is to talk about sex, or to hear salacious details of my sex life. I've nothing against talking about those things, but I generally prefer to discuss other things with people I've just met. Also, if you assume that my being bi and poly means that I'm: (a) eager to have a threesome with you even though we've never met; (b) eager to describe to you my last threesome; or (c) necessarily interested in threesomes at all, I'm probably not the ideal person for you to chat with.

Now I get zero messages on OKCupid. I call that a success. I may be kind of weird.

Sounds like a good disclaimer to me. Think of it as a filter. On some of my e-mail accounts, I get no messages at all if my spam filter is working correctly. That's a success. The other option was having to work for my no messages. :)

I have never gotten wannas on OKCupid, I think that my failing to check any of the "interested in dating" or "interested in sex" boxes has something to do with that.

And it says "seeing someone". That doesn't -- or rather, didn't -- stop lots of guys in farflung reaches of the globe from messaging me, but I may be on the site more than you. Oh, and I'm not positive it's the disclaimer that's doing it, because the guys who DID message me never seemed to have read my profile anyway, now I think of it.

Also, about clueless people trying to pick up women, I think the less available you are, the more they want you. My sister is straight, single, and cute, but she told me yesterday that men never approach her in bars. I told her those men aren't worth it anyway.
