My stuff just barely fits in my suitcase, but it fits.

If my extra pair of shoes weren't HUMONGOUS (because my feet are likewise humongous), I'd have room to spare.

I always over pack but I always have the fear I will end up out of cloths for some reason and not be able to find anything in my size in a store.
Feet are about the only thing about me that is small I only ware a size 7*giggles*

There is NO way I could find clothes to fit me in Japan, I'm thinking, but it's okay. Even if my suitcase gets lost, I'll have the clothes on my back, and I can always just wash them every day.

I don't like overpacking because it hurts to lug things through airports and stuff. I may eat my words, though, because I'm having trouble talking myself into reducing the number of books in my backpack. :-)

Actually, the plan is this: I have a backpack full of paperbacks to read. They're getting jettisoned for the trip back. :-)

Good plan. I've used a similar ploy, by taking a load of clothes that are nearly worn out, or that I'm bored with, and dumping them when I come home.
