I'd sooner die than kill another person in anger, in self-defense, or even (I believe) in defense of my loved ones. However, honestly, if I thought I could pull it off and it would work, I would kill selected public officials to 1) end the war in Iraq; 2) prevent the war in Iran; 3) change our country into one with a basic respect for individual lives after birth, and for human rights.

I agree about killing in anger, but it's not as clear to me about killing in defense. If someone were directing evil my way I would want them dead. I would die if a loved one was killed and I could have stopped it.

If someone you loved was facing death and you could save them, but you had to kill me to do it, I would expect you to kill me. If you had to shoot a wild beast that was about to attack a baby, only I'm in the way, go ahead and take the shot. I'd rather die than be responsible for preventing you from saving a baby (let alone your baby.) Either way you'd feel bad.

And I completely respect and honor your posisition that you would rather die than kill another human being.

I completely agree with you about guns. The thing is, though, I would rather kill someone else than have them harm the people I love. And that includes the government.
