1) I'm on the LJ Talk thing, but I haven't used it yet. Info at
http://news.livejournal.com/94350.html ; same name as here; add me if
you want.

2) Sushi lunch yesterday was lovely. Today, I ended the Best Temp Job
Ever, stopped over [livejournal.com profile] stonebender's for a while, did some
shopping and y'know, ate loads of fried foods, and vegged out in front
of my newly-registered copy of Snood (b'day gift from [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy. I don't feel any less antisocial than I did this
morning, but the freedom to just hang out has been great. This begins
three whole days off, and I'm really looking forward to it.

3) Mom paid for the hand doctor again. He could fix the nerve damage
(numbness -- the pain will go away on its own) with expensive surgery.
We agreed that wasn't in the cards right now, as the numbness isn't very
bothersome, and I'm not very wealthy. I may revisit it in a few weeks if
the thumb isn't better and/or I'm at a job with benefits.

FYI: Once you're on the LJ talk, it automatically adds anyone on your friends list who's on it.

Make sure that the health-insurance benefit doesn't have a "pre-existing condition" exclusion.

Thanks for the heads-up on LJ talk.

Glad you had a good lunch :-)

Hope your thumb keeps getting better...

I realize that I am making this all about me (I'm often aware of this while I write LJ responses) but I do need to say that I injured my hand pretty badly some years back and had numbness like you're having.

It took a long time for sensation to come back, but it did. I also found the numbness very disturbing and upsetting, so here's hoping that things work out a little better for you.
