[Sorry, I don't have a Bay Area filter]

Anyone have a sewing machine I can borrow for a week or so? [livejournal.com profile] sogwife kindly agreed to sew Munchkin The Elder's Halloween costume, and then her machine broke. Failing that, anyone know how to fix a sewing machine? I could pay you, just not until next week.

As long as you don't need zig-zag, I've got one you could borrow. My zig-zag machine needs to go in to have the tension fixed, so it's not available at the moment.

Will that leave you without a machine? I'll check with [livejournal.com profile] sogwife and see if she can manage without zig-zag. Thanks!

It would leave me without a machine, but I'm pretty sure that would be OK for a week or so. (We opted to purchase Allegra's costume this year). But it sounds like you might have a better option below. Just let me know if you need it!

Oh, thank you! I'm gonna see if the machine at [livejournal.com profile] wild_irises's place works, and if it doesn't, I may still hit you up. Thanks for coming to our rescue! This kid is so great, and lives with a lot of disappointments in life; I didn't want to add to them.

I don't have a portable one, but I do have my mom's. She's welcome to come use it. It's disguised as the little table in the entrance area. I know very little about it, except when I plugged it in, turned on the light and pushed the pedal, things moved.

Caveat: I have no idea what kind of stitches this machine can do. I'm the ultimate anti-sewing girl, if I can't staple, duct tape or stitch witch repairs, it goes in the trash. On a good day, I will use a needle and thread to sew a button on.

I have an old one which I believe works perfectly, which [livejournal.com profile] sogwife could have forever, and I would be delighted.

I'm not home, and I'm not sure where [livejournal.com profile] alanbostick is. However, if you go to my garage (I'm putting the door code in email), you'll see it on the left of the car (or on the left of the space where the car would be).

Please take it!

I'd be happy to loan you my Bernina - I'm not planning to use it in the meantime. It zigzags and everything. Just call me or send me email (charlotte underscore blackmer at yahoo dot com).
