pantryslut:
I haven't eaten yet (the breakfast-is-the-most-important-meal-of-the-day folks always tut at me), but I'll edit this post as I go about my day, and I'll update at bedtime.
Squash salad (kind of like potato salad, but with leftover winter squash that
loracs offered me)
Potato chips and tortilla chips (mixed up in a bowl)
A couple stolen pieces of
stonebender's peanut brittle
Chorizo and eggs
Water
Pistachios
Chips and dip (dip: goat cheese, caponata, mayo, sour cream)
Hamburger Helper (stroganoff style)
Spinach-onion-goat-cheese scramble
More pistachios. LOTS more.
Hunk of homemade bread
It's interesting the different space my brain goes into when I know I'm going to be writing down what I eat. I approve of awareness, and I have no shame at all over what I eat any more. That's a really good thing to feel. It's good to see that the diet mentality doesn't kick in, but I get uncomfortable anyway, because I'm afraid of my past diet-mind, and I don't ever want to do anything to make myself feel that way again.
I kind of like the Incendiary Food Log project (aka [info]incendiaryfood), which was started byfearfuloptimist. I found it via
amarama. Go read why we're all doing this; the nutshell is (my paraphrase, obviously): let's not be ashamed of what we eat, no matter what it is. Let's be aware of what we put in our mouths. Let's share.

Date: 2006-11-12 01:19 am (UTC)The whole point is that there's no "bad" involved. Eating isn't a moral failing; eating deep-fried twinkies with lard on top doesn't mean someone's being bad. :-)
