sereneLunchtime at the Best Job Ever, which feels almost like cheating since I started at 10:30 and they're closing early at 3, but hey, it's the day before Spring Break, so I'm gonna roll with it.
Nabbed a survey frompiranha and filling out surveys is what Serenes like best, so here goes:
1. Explain what ended your last relationship?
That's a complicated question. It didn't actually end so much as shift tracks. We're still family, we still see each other several times a week, we still love each other... I just didn't think we had been partners in the way I need for a long time.
2. When was the last time you shaved?
Months ago. Maybe as much as a year or two. Not entirely sure.
3. What were you doing this morning at 8 AM?
Walking to the bus so I could go get my echocardiogram and blood tests done.
4. What were you doing 15 minutes ago?
Working (specifically, entering new students' documentation data into a spreadsheet, calling a doctor who sent us incomplete documentation, and filling out my timesheet).
5. Some things you are excited about?
Getting my teeth fixed! Seeing my mom next week. Going to the movies withstonebender on Sunday. Having a WHOLE WEEK OFF!
6. What is your favorite flavor of JELL-O?
I don't like jell-o unless it's mixed with something creamy like whipped cream. My favorite so far was a salad my ex-almost-step-mom used to make with raspberry jell-o, cranberries, walnuts, and whipped cream, but I'm going to try piranha's fave tonight: raspberry with sour cream. The rest of the family is having [redacted] tonight, and I hate the stuff.
7. Your prom night, what do you remember about it?
I didn't go.
8. Do you have any famous ancestors?
Sort of. My maternal grandmother was in the Medici line, according to her. Also, my mother's distant cousin is Frankie Avalon.
9. Last thing received in the mail?
A credit-card offer. I get several per week.
10. How many different beverages have you had today?
Three: water, orange juice, and chocolate soymilk.
11. Do you ever leave messages on people’s answering machine?
Yes. I prefer it to actually talking to people on the phone.
12. Do you draw your name in the sand when you go to the beach?
Sometimes, I guess. I'm more likely to build a half-assed sand castle, though, if I'm not swimming, but swimming is my preferred beach activity.
13. Any plans for Friday night?

sogwife's birthday, and tonight we're having her birthday dinner of corned beef and cabbage and [dessert redacted].
14. Do you like what the ocean does to your hair?
I'm neutral about it.
15. Have you ever received one of those big tins of 3 different popcorns?
Yep! It was the first gift I ever got fromstonebender, who has so far exhibited a 100% rate in getting Serene the perfect present.
16. Do you re-use towels after you shower?
No. I hate damp towels, and my mom's phobia of towel-borne impetigo passed on somewhat to me.
17. Describe your keychain(s)?
A blue rape whistle connected to way too many rings with wayyyyyy too many keys on them. My house, my borrowed car, work, work cabinets, two mailboxes,stonebender's house and car, and on and on. The thing weighs a TON.
18. Where do you keep your change?
Now that I have my nifty-if-ugly fatchick fannypack, there's a zippered pocket just for my change. And now that I'm tracking every penny, I actually keep track of the change that comes and goes.
19. When was the last time you spoke in front of a large group of people?
Maybe at our new student orientation last August. I used to read a lot at poetry readings, but I haven't done that in a while.
20. What kind of winter coat do you own?
I finally got rid of my taupe "grown-up coat", the first winter coat I had owned since childhood -- they're not much needed in San Diego, the place I lived before here. I need a new coat, but maybe it'll be a funner one next time. We'll see.
Ohmigosh, I'm not usually a clock-watcher, but three and a half hours until Spring Break, yay!
