bad week

Well, not entirely bad week. I rocked on Wednesday, successfully reducing
my stress at two of my jobs. Then early Thursday morning, my computer
died in the middle of some important work stuff, and things went down from
there. Had to go buy a new computer *quickly*, and if I'd done so a week
earlier, could've had a machine without fucking Vista on it. Managed to
recover the files on my hard drive, and then LOSE my email because of one
screwup after another in my attempt to migrate it to the new machine. And
then it turned out something I thought the client hadn't provided me with
(so I wasn't responsible for it) has been on our ftp server since
mid-January. Let's just say I feel like a fuckup this week. My munchkin
is here, though, so I'm trying to just let it go.

Costumes tomorrow. It'll probably just be our family plus dryadgrl's at this point, but if you want to come join us, you
really should. Food and drinks and tacky prizes for anyone in costume,
c'mon!

You have been having a rough one! Hope things go smoother next week.
Oh I have not heard good things about vista hope you don't have too much trouble with it. Depending on how I feel when I get up tomorrow I might just drive up. Not sure if I will manage a costume we will see. One more week till my vacation counting the days.

*nods* Yeah I'm sorta in the same spot around Vista. I thought I was getting a new computer earlier sans Vista, but things didn't work out. Now I'm treading water trying to figure out when/if I should chance it.

Although I felt a little guilty at the time (my stuff no one was pressuring me) I'm glad I bowed out of the costume party. I'm *still* sick and with loracs back we wouldn't have been ready for it.

I hope the party makes up a little for the lousy week. (We have not been having a great month or so have we?) On the bright side, there will be bacon. :)

1) The boss called today to yell at me for stressing over the work thing. Turns out it was totally not my fault, and the client had had two chances in two weeks to go over the files we had and point out that some were missing.

2) BACON! :-)

3) No worries about the party. Turns out it's just gonna be us plus dryadgrl and her kid, and I would've hated to take over your place for that.

If you feel like it, maybe the munchkin and I will stop by for a while tomorrow. He wants to see if you want to try to play another (different) card game that he thinks you'll like better than Pokemon. ;-)

I was in an all-day workshop today (glass fusing) and I was pretty tired by the time I came home and fed everyone. I had the idea of coming in a costume that would represent the Durant Denizens; manuel wheelchair, one of stonebender's hats and, of course, the pig nose. I thought if would be a bit much if I fried a couple pieces of bacon and used them for earrings. . . but then again, it would be a way to get a non-vegetarian person to nibble my ears!

Sorry about the computer troubles ... I need to pick up a Vista laptop pretty soon myself for testing/support purposes, but haven't decided which one yet.
