How many notes make a post again?

1) We already know life isn't fair. Does my mom have to get breast cancer to prove it? (We don't know yet: suspicious mammogram --> suspicious ultrasound --> biopsy --> lymph matter found in sample (so far, I'm not having much success figuring out what that might mean)). My mom can not catch a fucking break lately. I'm so happy that she's enjoying her new gentleman friend (who's actually someone she's known for 30 years), and I wish she didn't have this worry to mar that. (In case you're new to the mom stuff, she had stomach cancer 2.5 years ago and they originally thought she had 6 months to live. A month later, she was back working full-time. My mother is made of steel, but still, come ON.)

2) Thinking of using a fair chunk of my raise to hire housekeepers to come in once a week. Is this a frivolous waste when I have medical bills to pay off still?

3) There's a bunch of other stuff I wanted to talk about, but it's stuck up there in that pile of shredded cabbage I call a brain. Maybe I should go get some sleep.

fingers crossed for your Mum, who must indeed be made of steel. I think if you can stand to have strangers about the house having someone do the cleaning for you is a great idea - just as long as you don't fall under the tyranny of having to tidy up before they arrive, which used to cause stress in my household when we had a cleaner coming in regularly. I certainly don't think it's a frivolous waste if your health would benefit from it.

That you like doing a bunch of domestic stuff doesn't mean you have to do all the stuff, whether or not you enjoy it, and regardless of available time, with your own hands.
