My response to someone's question about what people have planned for Easter today:

Nothing. Glorious, blissful nothing. This has been a few weeks of the most stress (some of it good stress) and busyness I can remember, and today my plan is "Serene's only doing things she wants to do".

So right now I'm catching up on Usenet in my birthday suit. In my fridge are decadent foods. I have some books to read. I have a batch of no-knead bread on the counter that I will bake if I feel like it. Life is good.

What does your day look like today?

I've got a quiet morning, my standard Sunday afternoon obligation, and then dinner at a family friend's house. I hear there's a Honeybaked Ham from the Honeybaked Ham store, so I truly cannot complain.

Snow flurries. Church, with meditations on an original painting and an original poem created for the occasion by members of our congregation. Back into my housecoat to eat hot cross buns with cream cheese and the chocolate someone left for me as a surprise. Then no commitments and no social plans, but a pack of lamb chops in my refrigerator.

Mine is mostly me feeling lethargic and avoiding doing the one thing that's on my agenda for the day, which is more than a little silly given that once I get that done I can settle in to a long-term guilt-free activity like playing Oblivion rather than a bunch of short-term time wasters.

I, too, am at the computer in my birthday suit, although my internet crack of choice is LJ. I have to purchase a DSL cable, but other than that I can sit and knit while my former partners move out of the apartment.

1. Go to the Farmers' Market.
2. Clean the rat cage.
3. Walk in the park with a friend.
(4. Take pictures of the vampire mint.)
(5. Take pictures of other plants.)
(6. Post boring gardening update on LiveJournal.)

(4-6 are optional, but I had better go get started on the first three.)

I was in my Birthday suit but...

Now that I am dried off I am waring at least a shirt a compromise between me and the room-ie. The only thing I have planned is at least one more load of laundry. A hit and miss search for some paperwork I need and can't find. I paid all but one bill and it isn't due till later this month. My taxes went in last week. So I am golden!

[livejournal.com profile] zedrikcayne slept very late today, so I got up and had a nice breakfast by myself, with copious quantities of tea. I cleaned bathrooms (but not showers, since those are easier to clean when one is in the shower) and stripped the bed, and caught up on livejournal and e-mail. Then, he woke up, and I started laundry, and we emptied the dishwasher and took the leaves out of the dining room table. We put the leaves from the table away, and I made a big pan of matzo brei for lunch. This afternoon, I'll do some more laundry, iron and put away tablecloths, prep some lunches for Cayne for the week, and clean my shower, and [livejournal.com profile] zedrikcayne will mow the lawn, and run the vacuum.

And tonight, we'll have a nice dinner together.

Resting up from last night's marathon Seder! :) I'm also having a relaxing day without too many things on the "have-to" list. I do have a couple of errands, but I also want to spend some time getting my container garden ready for spring (yes, I know spring is already here, but this is my first free weekend in a while). Mostly, I'm having a slow morning drinking tea and reading LJ and email.

This morning, I walked a visiting yellow lab, went to church with my sweetie [livejournal.com profile] brian1789, his wife and kids. Eldest had a drum solo, which was kinda neat. Younger two tried sword-fighting with tulips. I came home and had a nap, and visit some with my housemates and R's parents, who are in town for the day. Then played fetch. Later, there will be more dog walking, and there will be a date tonight. Oh, I also got to hear a partial update from my sweetie [livejournal.com profile] baiku who spent the weekend at Frolicon.

Doing the taxes and playing computer games.

At the moment I seem to be about to devolve to 'computer games' because we don't have the interest forms for the mortgage on the old house where I know where they are, and [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan's on the phone with his LD partner chatting about alt.polycon, so I can't make him go find them. ;)

It's just coming up to 9am here. So far I've had a leisurely breakfast (cheese on home-made brown spelt toast), and am halfway through my second cup of tea. In about 90 minutes a friend will be dropping off his copy of "Wintersmith" by Terry Pratchett for us to borrow, so I foresee quite a bit of reading today. Also housework, and a long walk in the sun, probably to town to hunt for half-price chocolate.

Back at work. We closed only for Good Friday, which as Friday is my regular day off anyway, didn't do me a lick of good.

"Hey, hey, hey, it's just an ordinary day . . . "

Had a lovely date with [livejournal.com profile] the_ogre, went out afterwards for a yummy dinner with [livejournal.com profile] blackfyr and plan to spend the rest of the evening doing what I feel like doing.

I didn't have rehearsal today which meant we all got to sleep in, which was nice. S. cooperated with the plan which was even better. After we got up and hung out around the house we went to Ardenwood Farm (http://www.ebparks.org/parks/arden.htm) and showed S. farm animals for the first time. He was quite interested. We walked around the farm for a couple of hours then got in the car, S. fell asleep and [livejournal.com profile] ptor and I drove through Taco Bell and found shade to park under and had a car-picnic while S. slept. Then back home and we watched new "Sopranos" and "Entourage" and played with S (he played while we watched TV--no TV for him yet). Then I made artichokes and herbed lemon pilaf with almonds for dinner and it was very good (S. had avocado). Now, I need nurse S. and get him into bed.

That was our nice, non-stressful day. Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] ptor managed to get some yard work done, prepping our yard for a garden.
