Seems many of my friends are getting the news of my thyroid tumor for the first time. Sorry to be cryptic.

The tumor was discovered during a routine physical a couplethree years ago. I got a fine-needle biopsy and the results came back benign, so I have every reason to believe it's still benign. My thyroid levels are normal, and it's unlikely the tumor is causing any of the weird symptoms I've been experiencing lately.

Again, sorry for my lack of clarity.

Still, that must have been scary. Here's hoping for good news on that front for a long time to come... and that you get better from your weird symptoms soon.

(And it's been far too long....)

I knew about the tumor, but hadn't made the connection that you were concerned about it now. But that probably has less to do with your clarity (or possible lack thereof) and more to do with my scatter-brain for the last year or so; it's been a fucking roller-coaster ride, this thing called My Life, and I know I'm paying less attention than I ought.

In any case, dear one, long hugs and an apology. I'm paying attention now.

Thanks for explaining, and I hope it all turns out well.

Yes, first I'd heard. I've had acquaintances with thyroid cancer and it is very treatable, not as worrisome as some other cancers. But as you said, since it was biopsied before and was benign, there's no reason to think it would be different now. Fingers crossed for you.

Well, relief on the tumor front for me, best hopes that it continues its benign lifestyle, but serious disappointment that your health issues remain undiagnosed and therefore free to continue fucking with you. (If I ever knew about the thyroid before, I have clearly spaced on it since.)I'm still going to be thinking about this until I hear the ultrasound results, though.

Thank you for the clarification. I was among the, "Er, what?"

Oh good. I mean, weird symptoms bad, and tumor not-what-I'd-call-good, but benignity good, and already-knew-about-that good, and so-forth-with-more-hyphens-for-good-measure.

ah. hrm. that's still disconcerting. i mean, it's certainly good that the tumour was benign -- and may it still be so -- but weird symptoms are not fun. here's hoping they turn out to be something as benign as possible as well.

Well, this was news to me, but just the same, I'm just glad you're okay. *whew*

...and breathe again.

I hadn't heard, and for a moment I felt the world crash around my ears.

Honestly. *eep*
