And may steal some of his answers, too:

1. What bill do you hate paying the most?

I've been broke for so long, that I'm always happy when I have the money to pay my bills, so I don't mind doing it.

2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?

I know it's sappy, but any dinner with my sweeties seems romantic to me, so I guess it would be my dining room.

3. Last time you puked from drinking?

I never have. I've had maybe a dozen alcoholic drinks in my life.

4. When is the last time you got drunk and danced on a bar?

See above.

5. Name of your first grade teacher?

Mrs. Smiles. Yes, really.

6. What do you really want to be doing right now?

This is just fine.

7. What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A singer. Never anything else.

8. How many colleges did you attend?

Five.

9. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?

Because [livejournal.com profile] stonebender likes it and it's comfy.

10. GAS PRICES?

I'd be happy to see them get higher. I'd like to see more people taking public transit, biking, carpooling or buying more fuel efficient cars or cars that use alternate energy sources. I wouldn't mind if they grew higher due to an additional tax that goes into the public transit system. [That part was [livejournal.com profile] epi_lj's contribution, and I'd like to add that this is all with a caveat that lower-income people could get some sort of transportation/gas subsidy so that pricing gas higher wouldn't make it impossible for them to get to a job that pays a living wage.]

11. If you could move anywhere and take someone with you?

Then what? If I could, would I? Depends on who and where. If I could move, where would I move? I can't think of any place better than here.

12. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?

No alarm this morning. We woke up around 9am.

13. Last thought before going to sleep last night?

"That would be really nice, but I'm soooooo sleeeeeepy."

14. Favorite style of underwear?

I like sexy, lacy stuff for sex, but I don't wear any day-to-day.

15. Favorite style of underwear for the opposite sex?

Whatever they feel sexy in.

16. What errand/chore do you despise?

I don't love getting my hands all dirty, but I've gotten better about that, and I can't think of any chore I really hate.

17. If you didn't have to work, would you volunteer?

Yes, and I have, during the times when I haven't had to work for money.

18. Get up early or sleep in?

Sleep in, but sometimes "sleeping in" means 8 or 9am, rarely noon.

19. What is your favorite cartoon character?

Gosh, hard to say. I do really love superheroes, though.

20. Favorite NON sexual thing to do at night with a girl/guy?

It depends on the person, although reading while cuddling is nice.

21. Have you found real love yet?

Yes.

22. When did you first start feeling old?

The first time it really sank in that I was no longer young was in 1997. There was a news story about the 20th Anniversary re-release of the first Star Wars movie. I saw the movie when it came out, at the drive-in with my siblings. They were interviewing some college students about the re-release. None of them had been *born* yet when the movie had come out.

23. Favorite 80's movie?

I don't have one favorite, but some faves were Blues Brothers, Die Hard, Fame, The Postman Always Rings Twice (the cunnilingus scene scandalized/tantalized me), Biloxi Blues, The Karate Kid, and everything Molly Ringwald ever made

24. Your favorite lunch meat?

Salami

25. What do you get every time you go into Sam's Club?

I've never been to Sam's Club, but every time I go to Costco, I get butter, because that's usually why I'm there (each pound batch of toffee requires a half pound of butter).

26. Beach or lake?

Both? What about lakes that have beaches?

27. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?

I don't think so. I think it's possible that it could be tweaked or improved upon, but that's not really the same as saying it's outdated.

28. How many people do you stalk on livejournal?

Stalk? None, as far as I know. Everyone whose journal I read, I put on my friends list, so it's pretty out in the open, and as far as I know, they're all okay with that. If anybody objected and would prefer I drop them, I hope they'd say so.

29. Favorite guilty pleasure?

I try not to feel guilty about my pleasures. [That's [livejournal.com profile] epi_lj's response, and I'm amused, because he and I were just saying to each other that we don't "do" guilty pleasures.]

30. Favorite movie you wouldn't want anyone to find out about?

Why wouldn't I want someone to find out about a movie I like? So far, no one's left me over my love of "Xanadu", so I think I'm safe.

31. What's your drink?

Water.

32. Cowboys or Indians?

Neither.

33. Cops or Robbers?

Neither. Who wrote this?

34. Who from high school would you like to run into?

Ann Grudzinski. She moved and kept in touch with me, but I didn't reciprocate, and I've always wanted to apologize.

35. What radio station is your car radio tuned to right now?

KQED.

36. Norm or Cliff?

I think of the two Norm was nicer and less annoying, but neither really do much for me.

37. The Cosby Show or the Simpsons?

Simpsons, though I watched the Cosby Show every week when it was on.

38. Worst relationship mistake that you wish you could take back?

Lying to TOTGA.

39. Do you like the person who sits directly across from you at work?

*mrowr*

Have I mentioned how much I love working at home?

40. If you could get away with it, who would you kill?

41. What famous person(s) would you like to party with?

I hate the word "party" used that way, and I have no idea what most famous people are like to hang out with.

42. What famous person would you like to sleep with?

I think a few famous people are nice to look at, but I'd have to know more about what they were like as people and to hang out with to actually want to sleep with them.

43. Have you ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?

No.

44. Last book you read for real?

As opposed to what, just pretending to read it? WTF?

I have been working my way through all my murder mysteries so I can take as many as possible to my mom when I visit her next week. We like the same trashy serial-killer novels, and I'm gonna swap her for the ones she's already read. Yesterday, I finished a Faye Kellerman one called Stone Kiss or some such.

45. Do you have a teddy bear?

Not unless you count [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy (that's [livejournal.com profile] sogwife's nickname for him).

46. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?

Probably in the car.

47. Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?

The redwood forests; Big Sur; Catalina.

48. Do you go to church?

Not unless I'm attending an event of some sort that's held in one.

49. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?

A new relationship. I'm tired of new careers.

50. Just how OLD are you?

40. And a half. Or so.

Was Mrs. Smiles nice?

I had a fourth grade teacher named Mrs. Crummy, and she was. I wondered if she had been before she adopted the name.

I only have one memory of Mrs. Smiles's class -- that was going out with magnifying glasses to the lawn and learning about the hooks on burrs.

My third-grade teacher's name was Mrs. Mania. She was a tad manic, as I recall. Once she told us that if we ate mold, we would die. Not a good thing to tell an anxiety-ridden hypochondriac whose parents never cleaned out the fridge.

My kindergarten teacher was named Mrs. Knapp, which I always thought was a fun name for a kindergarten teacher.

Heh. My kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Urbanek, who paddled me every day because I wouldn't. Nap, that is.

I felt old both when people hadn't been born yet with Star Wars, but also when there were people who had only ever seen the revised version of Star Wars.

29. Favorite guilty pleasure?

I try not to feel guilty about my pleasures. [That's epi_lj's response, and I'm amused, because he and I were just saying to each other that we don't "do" guilty pleasures.]

Oh, yay! I hate the phrase "guilty pleasure". As though you should feel ashamed because you like something that's considered in poor taste. I hate snobbery in all its many forms.

30. Favorite movie you wouldn't want anyone to find out about?

Why wouldn't I want someone to find out about a movie I like? So far, no one's left me over my love of "Xanadu", so I think I'm safe.

I've never seen the movie, but I did love the Olivia-Newton John song from that movie.
