56. How do you feel when you see a rainbow? All excited like a little kid.
57. Have you ever dreamt a dream that came true? Oh, god, no. My dreams are *bizarre*, and in general, defy the laws of, well, *everything*.
58. Have you ever been to a psychic/tarot reader? *laugh* No. I was an evangelical christian and then an atheist. It never came up.
59. What is your idea of paradise? This is. This is all we get, as far as I can tell, so making it paradise is my full-time job.

61. Do you believe in Hell? Nope.
62. What one thing have you done that most people haven't? Been the victim of a failed murder attempt.

66. What holiday shouldn't exist but does? I'm all for holidays (I don't care about them, but I think they're fine things to have). I just don't want the government playing favorites, so I would eliminate state holidays on religious holy days.
67. What's the best joke you ever heard? I only know a couple of jokes, because I have trouble remembering anything more than a line long. Here they are:
a) Why did Jesus get all the chicks? *hold arms out in crucifixion pose* Because he was hung like this.
b) What's the difference among love, true love, and showing off? Spitting, swallowing, and gargling.

69. Is your hair natural or dyed? Natural. It's been about ten years since the last time I dyed it, maybe longer.
70. Do you have any deep dark secrets or are you pretty much up front? Pretty much up front. I can't think of one secret that I've told no one, even the pretty repulsive stuff.
71. What is under your bed right now? Probably a little mildew. We should get a bed frame.
72. If you were in the Land of Oz would you want to live there or go home? *tapping my heels together in earnest*

82. If you had to choose would you live on the equator or at the North Pole? The equator. It's closer in climate to where I've lived all my life, so I think adjusting would be easier.

90. Which would you rather take as a gym class...dancing, sailing, karate, or bowling? Hmm. Any of them. I do like some kinds of dancing (mostly structured stuff that I can work at without having to have a natural talent for it -- one time,

91. In Star Trek people 'beam' back and forth between different places. What this means is they stand in a little tube and their molecules are deconstructed and sent to another tube somewhere else where they are reassembled. Only problem is when the molecules are deconstructed the person is dead. When they are put back together it is only a clone that has all the dead person's memories. So...
Is the person who gets beamed the same person on both ends? Don't know, but Sign. Me. Up.
92. What insects are you afraid of? Not exactly afraid of any, but I don't want them crawling on me or in my pantries, thankyewver'much.
93. If you could print any phrase on a T-shirt, what would it say? Something queer, so the cute dykey barristas won't assume I'm not flirting just because I'm holding some cute boy's hand. ;-)
94. What's the most eccentric thing you have ever worn? Um, I wear my Wonder Woman pajamas as outdoor clothes. I'm thinking they'll be perfect for the bouncy place.
95. If you could pick one food that you could eat all you wanted but it would have no effect on how much you weigh, what food would it be? I already CAN do that. My weight has been mostly stable all my life, and I mostly eat whatever I want.
96. What are your parents interested in? My mom is interested in her work (she's a computer teacher) and in her family, and in playing bridge and yard sales and reading murder mysteries. My dad is interested in his work (he's a computer and physics teacher) and in his wife, their dogs, certain TV shows, computer programming, games and puzzles, radio-controlled boats and planes, and finding ways to make money with his massive brain.
97. Have you ever caught an insect and kept it as a pet? Nope, but I fed grasshoppers to my pet chameleon a lot.
Have you ever caught and tamed a wild animal? Nope.
98. What is more helpful to you, wishes or plans? Plans, but wishes are fun, too.

100. You are spending the night alone in the woods and may bring only 3 items with you. What do you bring? My house. A car. A cellphone. (In other words, fuck that. I'm not spending the night alone in the woods, and you can't make me.)
Hope it's OK to answer these here!
Date: 2007-05-18 07:45 pm (UTC)Oh, me too! I'm usually alone when I see them, usually in my car, so I end up exclaiming excitedly to my windshield. :)
58. Have you ever been to a psychic/tarot reader? *laugh* No. I was an evangelical christian and then an atheist. It never came up.
I've done both. Which is odd, because I don't believe in either one. That is, I don't believe in metaphysical magic. But the psychic (a tea-leaf reader) was amazingly close to reality for me, in a very specific way - she referred to a fight I'd had with my dad the day before, and even knew what the issues were we were fighting about.
More recently, a woman I know gave me a tarot reading. I actually do "believe" in tarot cards to some degree, in that they have a lot of fascinating symbolism that probably does tap into some collective unconcious - or at least, they delve into many aspects of life in a complex way, and offer ample opportunities for interpretation by the reader. The reading was fun, and while I don't believe they can forecast the future, we certainly had an interesting conversation about all the issues. Plus I think a lot of the cards are beautiful and that goes a long way for me.
64. Are you a patient person? Yes.
Me: Nope, never been very good at that!
69. Is your hair natural or dyed? Natural. It's been about ten years since the last time I dyed it, maybe longer.
If I had gotten this question yesterday, I would also have said natural. But last night I had my hair colored brilliant red - wheee! (It is naturally dark brown, heavily salted with grey.)
76. Do you prefer Disney or Warner Brothers? Hey, jwermont, I'm gonna skip this one, 'kay? ;-)
Hee hee... "Embrace the power of NOR"? :)
77. What is the first animal you would run to see if you went to the zoo? I don't do zoos, but when I did, I really liked the hippos.
I HATE zoos. They make me so sad and upset - I never go to them. But if I were to find myself in a zoo, I'd probably go straight to the big cats, and cry.
Well, I guess if it was one of those animal sanctuaries with a lot of land where the animals could roam freely, and the only animals they kept there were those who couldn't survive in the wild, I wouldn't mind that. I'd still go right for the big cats.
89. Get anything good in the mail recently? Oh, yes. I belong to paperbackswap.com and swapacd.com, so I get lots of good mail.
I got something great yesterday - two new clothing items I'd ordered from a catalog. My recent luck with mail-ordering hasn't been great, and I've been returning most of what I've ordered. But the two new tops I got yesterday were really great, fit perfectly, looked wonderful!
95. If you could pick one food that you could eat all you wanted but it would have no effect on how much you weigh, what food would it be? I already CAN do that. My weight has been mostly stable all my life, and I mostly eat whatever I want.
I would not make a food choice based on its effect on my weight. But if I could eat as much as I wanted of something, without its having a bad effect on my health, that would probably be cheddar cheese, especially melted cheese dishes like omelets, grilled cheese sandwiches, cheeseburgers, quesadillas... mmmm... cheesey goodness!
100. You are spending the night alone in the woods and may bring only 3 items with you. What do you bring? My house. A car. A cellphone.
Hahahahaha!!! That's hilarious.

Adorable.
I almost never order clothes from a catalog, because I'm bad at guessing what will look good on me without trying it on, and most catalogs make you pay the shipping, and I hate to pay several dollars for the privilege of trying something on and shipping it back.
