Her family came over in steerage when she was very young, and most of them died. My grandfather was really named Moishe Ginsberg, but changed his name when he escaped from Poland and the Nazis, and then lied his way into his job at Bell Labs. Umm, what else? My mom is Frankie Avalon's cousin, and his father made her 21st birthday cake.
