And then off to bed, really.

401. Some say that high school is the best time of your life. Was that true for you?

No. No no no. Nonononononono.

402. What do you find yourself encouraging others to try?

Doing what they want to, even if they think other people will disapprove.

403. Which is better: Mel Brooks or Woody Allen?

I find Brooks funnier.

404. When was the last time you were up all night?

Um, now? It's only 3am, but it may turn into an all-nighter.

405. __ is life. The rest is just details. Fill in the blank.

Joy.

406. Are people too complex and different to be categorized?

Yes and no.

407. Is it good to have pride in your own race or does that separate people from each other because it makes them think of everyone else as 'outsiders'?

Both (though I would say that "pride" is not exactly the word I'm looking for).

408. What fictional story would you like to live through?

There's too much tragedy in fiction. I have had my share of drama and intrigue. I'm fine with my sedate little life, thanks.

409. Are cats or dogs smarter?

I don't know.

410. Have you ever guessed someone's password and broken into their email/diary/blog/myspace?

Yes.

411. What teacher, if any, has effected you the most in your life?

Probably Larry Nordell.

412. Are you more easily bored or excited?

Excited.

413. What's the bravest or most daring thing you have ever done?

I don't know. I was pretty proud of myself for climbing down the huge cliff to Black's Beach and back up again.

414. "What's the point of robbery when nothing is worth taking?" (- Adam Ant)

?

415. If your man or woman served you breakfast in bed as a treat what would you want to eat?

I like it when [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy makes us shredded wheat and eggs, which I call shredded eggs and wheat.

416. What do you do only when you are upset?

Hmm. I don't know. Say "I'm upset", probably.

417. What's the oddest CD in your collection?

Probably the wacked-out Queen tribute album we were listening to yesterday.

418. What's the best screen name you ever saw?

Dunno. I had an ex whose screen name was TieDyeGuy, and that was kinda fun, until we met in person and I had no idea what to call him. I knew his real name, but I'd been calling him "Tie" in chat for a year, and it was just really weird. I ended up calling him "sweetie" most of the time during his visit, and he teased me about it.

419. What would your friends be surprised to learn about you?

Whenever I mention that I used to be a Reagan Republican and an Evangelical Christian, I get surprised looks, but most people have heard that by now.

420. Who owes you an apology?

I'd rather not say.

421. Who deserves an apology from you?

I'd rather not say.

422. How would you like to treat your kids differently from the way your parents treated you?

I hit them a lot less. I listened to them a lot more. I allowed them to make their own food choices. I didn't make them my little robot slaves.

423. Which do you like best: 60's, 70's or 80's fashion?

'60s

424. What is the worst pick up line ever used on you?

Oh, probably some dumb thing on OKCupid or something.

425. Of the following, which word best describes you: inventive, kinetic (energetic), light-hearted, mature

Mature

426. Do you own a record player?

Nope.

Do you use it?

427. How easily do you make friends?

Not all that easily.

428. What is the difference between having character and being a character?

That's a silly question. What's the difference between having a banana and going bananas? (By the way, I made banana bread tonight. With real butter. You should come get some before it's gone.)

429. Are there any animals you flat out refuse to touch?

Not that I can think of, though the one time I touched a stingray, it touched me back in a bad way.

430. Do you care about your weight?

Nope, unless it's changing rapidly -- that worries me.

431. Did you/will you go to the prom?

Nope.

432. Have you ever wanted to date twins?

No, and I don't see the appeal.

433. What one thing would you change about high school if you could?

I would just have liked to have known that I wouldn't always be so unhappy.

434. If you came with a warning label, what would it say?

"You must be at least this smart to ride this ride."

435. Are you artistic and creative?

In some ways, I am.

436. What were you (probably) doing on this date last year?

I can check my LJ and see. :-) Planning Dim Sum for the visiting [livejournal.com profile] elissaann.

437. What are you obsessed with?

Honestly? Menu planning. I think about it all the time. I'm always asking people what they want for the next meal when they've barely finished this one. In this way, I am not good at living in the present. I'm always thinking about what the next thing is that I will cook. Not eat, cook.

438. What was the last compliment you received?

[livejournal.com profile] stonebender told me I was incredibly sexy.

439. Do you have any brothers or sisters?

Two brothers and a sister, along with a "foster sister" that my family kind of adopted. I got to see her toddler on our trip. Way happymaking.

440. Who would you like to be alone with right now?

[livejournal.com profile] someotherguy

441. Do you push people away when you really want them to come closer?

Sometimes. I'm afraid of intensity, sometimes.

442. Is a prenuptial agreement necessary or does it take the romance and trust out of marriage?

I think it's wise, but that its necessity would depend on the individual circumstances.

443. Do you lie your way out of things?

Very rarely.

444. Are you better at talking or listening?

Talking, but I'm trying to be a better listener.

445. What will only happen to you once in this lifetime?

Being born, dying, doing anything for the first time...

446. Know of any conspiracy theories you think might be credible?

Honestly, I will always have the feeling that Oswald didn't act entirely alone.

447. What are the most beautiful words that have ever been spoken to you?

Every variation on "I love you" that anyone's ever said.

448. If it were legal would you own a human slave (race unimportant)?

NO! NO! No no no!

449. Have you ever read your own writing at a poetry reading?

Yes.

450. What is one simple thing that gives you the happy shivers?

Having my neck nibbled/licked/sucked.
