Good things today

1) Seeing laurenhat, L (whose LJ name I've forgotten if I ever knew it); vito_excalibur, and klwalton! Sitting around the table with such smart, articulate, funny women was good for my soul (and I don't even have a soul).

2) Ordering way more sushi than we could eat (or than I could afford, frankly, but what the hell), and it was all very very yummy.

3) "What do we want?" "BRRRAAAAIIIINNNS" "When do we want 'em?" "BRRRRRAAAAIIIIINNNNS"

Me: Guess who's coming to town?
someotherguy: The hottest wombat? (I call all the wombats "The hottest wombat" when I'm telling him about them.)
Me: Well, yes, that too, but also the best Sad Cowboy! (He calls all country music "Sad Cowboy Music") Lyle Lovett and his Large Band are coming!
Him (with trepidation): Ohhhh. Um, are you going?
Me: Yes! stonebender's taking me.
Him (with relief): Oh-KAY! This is a happy poly moment!

5) I really love my purse. Thanks again, loracs.

6) I taught myself PHP well enough to change the default settings on a work thing (and I had to find the right include file, etc.). I am so proud of me!

Anyway, enough of that. I should get back to work. How was your day?

ok, i must friend you... because laurenhat, loop, and vito are already three of the coolest gals i know, and kwalton has let me lurk on her lj (but i am very much looking forward to someday meeting her!) and i WILL make it to Wiscon someday... but i keep seeing you in all these places and so here i am!
