Bzzzz!

Got my latest BzzAgent package in the mail. It's Eucerin Daily Replenishing lotion. They sent me a full-sized bottle, plus a bunch of little samples with coupons, plus all kinds of literature. So far, I can say that it really is fragrance-free (yay! even the smallest amount of scent gives me a headache), and that the stuff itself doesn't have an odd smell; also, it absorbs quickly, but does leave a tiny bit of a greasy sheen on my skin. If it will help me with moisturizing without making me sick, though, I'm all for it. I'll use it this summer and see. It's SO hard for me to find skin-care (and hair-care) products that I can use. I only just found a conditioner that would work for me, after twenty years of looking. (BioInfusion Rosemary and Mint -- the shampoo has scents, but the conditioner doesn't, so if you don't mind a few minutes of minty-fresh hair, it's great stuff. I'm lucky to have good hair naturally, but it's so much softer now.)

Have you tried this stuff (either the Eucerin or the BioInfusion)? Do you have other fragrance-free skin/haircare products that you like?

I don't have issues with fragrance at all usually, but I do use Eucerin moisturizer in various strengths for my very dry/eczema prone skin. It's wonderful stuff.

If it makes my heels not look like the desert, that'll be good enough for me. :-)

My thing for heels (besides filing them) is right before bed to put some lotion on and then a piece of duct tape over the lotion.

For the days when my hands look like Martian canals (deep red gouges in the back of them, just from being really really dry), the 10% formulation of Eucerin works wonders.

I have been useing Aveeno active naturals skin relief moisturizing lotion that is fragrance free I like it. It is supposed to last 24 hours it does a pretty good job of it concidering all the paperwork I handle in a day. Shampoo I have not had to be that picky about as long as the scent isn't strong I am usually o.k.. Took me a while to find a body wash I liked I found Dial tropical escape scent I really like. None of them make me itch, sneeze or have a head ache all a good thing!

I'll check out the Aveeno. Thanks! Oh, and Dial is the devil to me -- no matter what formulation, I'm totally in allergy hell if I use it. Blisters and everything!

ewwww

not a good visual sorry to hear that. Dial at least the tropical escape is one of the few body wash's that I actually like the smell of and it doesn't dry the hell out of my skin, make me itch or give me a head ache. I loved the peppermint soap I used to get at the health food store but it dried my skin out terribly.

I don't entirely like Eucerin for just that reason-- it does leave a sheen, and it's slightly harsher than I'd like. But it's definitely effective, so hey.

And in this case, it's free. ;-)

i have fragrance issues too.

avalon organics has a *truly* fragrance-free lotion (http://www.avalonorganics.com/?id=94&pid=192) that i love the texture/absorption of.

[livejournal.com profile] xiphias, who has sensitive skin, tends to use Aveeno or Cetaphil.

BTW, what's this BzzAgent thing? Looked @ the website. Is it generally worth it?

BzzAgent is just a fun thing [livejournal.com profile] misanthropoid turned me on to. I get free stuff, blog about it, and... well, that's about it. I gather you get points, but I haven't done enough for it to be substantial. (Just looked, and there are several prizes I qualify, so I'm wrong about that.)

Anyway, I'm the type who likes filling out consumer surveys, and I love that they give you as much credit for bad feedback (like my review of "23") as for good.

My doctor, who rocks a whole lot, pointed me to U-Lactin which is fragrance and lanolin free.

I haven't used cosmetics most of my life -- what's the deal with lanolin?

I'll second the vote for Cetaphil. It was recommended to my mom, oh, about 14 years ago, by her oncologist when she had a radiation burn.

My husband swears by Aquaphor (was helpful in healing both of our tattoos). Uh...olive oil isn't bad if you can deal with the stickiness (try at night and use socks). Had to use that (all over) when I was a teenager and finally caught chicken pox (ugh).

I've been using some of the Oil of Olay products lately...not so much the moisturizers as the facial washes. I don't detect much of a fragrance. As far as soap...I found Lever 2000 (original) more than 10 years ago and don't seem to have a problem with it (I've had some problems with others).
