Amazing how much better the world looks after a day of relative leisure.

Okay, maybe not amazing, but still, it's really nice.

And chocolate cake! (If you know me, you know I don't care much for cake, but still, I rummaged in my pantry and had enough stuff to make chocolate cake, and it made me all happy.) (It's a few days before payday, so we're mother-and-father-hubbard -- not in a "there's no food" way, but in a "there's lots of staple food, now let's see what we can make with it without eggs, milk, vegetables-besides-celery, or fruit" kind of way.)

I gots a few apricots, a coupla plums, and a beautiful mango that needs love. It is ready for eating now! There are also dates stuffed with mascarpone cheese.

That's rather amusing in a "the people have no bread, let us eat cake" sort of way, and good job, but still, may your wealth in vegetables and fruit and everything else soon increase!

Well, we are not suffering, really (we had sesame-crusted salmon (for the others; I don't tend to eat salmon), chana dal, and rice pilaf with celery for dinner, and tonight is shiitake sushi and miso soup, and something for protein, not sure what yet -- bean salad?). But still, inflectionpoint is bringing us fruit tonight, so that will be fun/yummy. :-)

I'm eating miso soup with shittake mushrooms right now.

Last night I had some Haagen Dazs "Toasted Coconut Sesame Brittle" ice cream -- the sesame had enough of a sesame-oil presence to keep giving me the feeling of there being some kind of stir-fry mixed in with the ice cream.
