I'm so in love with the whole wide world right now. Yes, I know it's the caffeine talking, but it's also me talking, so there.

A short list of things I'm in love with. Feel free to add yours:

  • Plums we picked from [livejournal.com profile] sogwife's tree
  • Friends who can disagree without getting belligerent
  • Friends who let me know when I'm being belligerent
  • My own blood
  • Knowing that I've chosen a life that works for me
  • My inchoate NaNo novel
  • xkcd
  • paperbackswap/swapacd
  • Kookie Jar
  • My body, including the defective parts (note: arguments that none of my body parts are defective will be met with scorn and ridicule)
  • kissing
  • My newest musical boyfriend (He doesn't know he's my boyfriend, and that's okay. My love doesn't require reciprocation; ask anyone.)
  • [livejournal.com profile] klwalton, who has spent the last nearly ten years being a validation of my theory that pure solid good exists in the world
  • Me. I'm weeping right now about how long it took me to think it was really okay to love myself. I haven't had much trouble in my life with the actual loving-me part -- it's just felt like a shameful truth for most of my life. I'm so glad I don't have to hide it any more.
  • Pine nuts

Can't talk about it just yet, but something just happened that made me very smiley happy.

Lovely to read your list there - though pine nuts? OK, if that works for you, you can have my share.

If you get a chance to see Coulton live, you definitely should. I've seen him two or three times -- I discovered him because he tours with Paul and Storm (http://www.paulandstorm.com), whom I've been a fan of since they split off from Da Vinci's Notebook. Their shows are always a lot of fun...can't wait till their Birchmere show at the end of August -- that's one of the most famous places around, and this will be their first time there (they're normally at Jammin' Java, a coffeehouse-type place in the next town over from us), so it's pretty exciting. We're somewhat lucky in that Paul and Storm are from the DC area, so they perform here a couple times a year...and the energy in the room when they're on always far exceeds anything I've ever experienced at a concert. It's just amazing.

Anyway, great list.

Coulton is at Great American Music Hall in SF on Sept 14. I've seen him twice, so I guess I will give somebody else a turn. In meat life, he is a totally angelic person. I wonder if he will get so popular that he will have to stop wandering around before the show allowing strange women with CoultonMania badges to grab his hand.
I'm cheating on him with They Might Be Giants, whose podcasts at dialasong.com are also a thing of love. Some include John Hodgman!

I love the juxtaposition between the last two things on your list.

And also my tomato plant. ::snuggles the yummy tomatoes::

Y'know, when I saw the "musical boyfriend" line, I guessed it was JoCo before I even looked at who this post was from. Hee.
